The second one day international between South Africa and India takes place at Boland Park, Paarl on Friday and the Proteas are 1-0 up with two to play
The Proteas came from behind to win the 3 match test series 2-1 and the ODI team carried on the good work with a 31 run victory in the series opener at this venue on Wednesday.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first the Proteas posted a healthy 296/4 with van der Dussen (129 not out) and Bavuma (110) scoring the bulk of the runs. The run rate increased steadily and all 4 of SA's maximums came from van der Dussen's bat. Bumrah (2/48) was the pick of the Indian bowlers.
India got off to a solid start in the chase and at 138/1 they were favourites. However regular wickets were taken thereafter and the innings closed on 265/8 with the result evident from some way out. Dhawan top scored with 79, Kholi made 51 and Thakur's unbeaten 50 down the order came to late. India cleared the ropes just once and Ngidi, Shamsi and Phehlukwayo all took 2 wickets.
The final match of India's tour takes place at Newlands on Sunday and India need victory here to make that a decider..
This was how the teams lined up on Wednesday.

The Verdict
That was a good performance from the Proteas on Wednesday, posting a decent total and their bowlers kept their belief despite India's good start to the chase.
I'll look to the Player Performance market where points are awarded as follows.
Total Points. Run = 1pt. Catch = 10pts. Wicket = 20pts. Stumping = 25pts.
Rishabh Pant's quote looks on the low side to me, he took 1 catch behind the stumps on Wednesday and I fancy the Proteas will lose more wickets this time around.
Phehlukwayo would have been next man in for the Proteas in the first contest and he took a couple of wickets with the ball so his quote also looks beatable.
Bets: Player Performance Rishabh Pant over 37.5 at 17/20
Player Performance Andile Phehlukwayo over 31.5 at 17/20
