titanst20The final of Momentum One Day Cup sees the Titans host the Dolphins at Supersport Park, Centurion on Sunday and the home side start as the bookmakers favourites

Titans:

The Titans also had home advantage in the first of the semi finals against the WSB Cape Cobras and they came through with a 5 wicket win. The Titans restricted the Cobras to 187 thanks largely to Junior Dala who returned figures of 6/19 in his 8.3 overs. The Titans looked to be well and truly in command but in the chase their first 5 wickets went down with 65 runs on the board and it was game on. Farhaan Behardien (75) and Corbin Bosch (45) then regained control and that pair were there right to the end as the Titans got home in 39.1 overs.

The Titans finished top of the log at the end of the round robin stage with a record of 6 wins and 4 defeats. Despite losing 2 of their first 3 matches they went on to reel off 5 successive wins to forge clear and they had top spot under control well before losing their final 2 matches.

Dolphins:

The Dolphins made short work of their home semi final against the Warriors on Thursday. They bowled the Warriors out for just 119 with Keshav Maharaj the stand out performer with figures of 4/36. Opening bat Vaughn van Jaarsveld made 53 in the reply and the Dolphins claimed a 7 wicket win.

The Dolphins finished second on the log at the end of the round robin stage with a record of 5 wins, 4 defeats and 1 no result and they were 5 points behind the Titans. Their playoff charge started early with 4 wins in the first 5 matches and Proteas call ups would have been a factor thereafter.

The Dolphins did beat the Titans at Supersport Park in the round robin stage, posting 308/7 and defending it by 12 runs early in the tournament. However the return in Durban saw the Titans coast to victory as their bat first total of 300/9 proved to be 70 runs too many for the Dolphins.

Verdict:

This is a really tough ask of the Dolphins but they have turned the Titans over at Centurion in the round robin stage and a surprise win is not completely out of the question.
