Saturday’s televised action in the CSA T20 Challenge comes from Port Elizabeth where the Warriors clash with the WSB Cape Cobras and the visitors come into the game at the top of the standings.
Warriors:
Rain has been following the Warriors around on a regular basis throughout this tournament. They were in Durban on Wednesday for a meeting with the Dolphins but no play was possible. Prior to that the Warriors took on the Lions in East London. Marais crashed 82 off just 33 balls including 8 maximums and the Warriors were 155/5 with 8 balls remaining when the rain came and no further play was possible.
The Warriors started their tournament with a 4 run (DLS) upset win away to the Titans. A wet outfield in their subsequent visit to the Knights in Kimberley saw the game abandoned without a ball being bowled and in their third outing they went down by 7 wickets away to the Cobras. The Warriors now have 10 log points from 5 outings.

WSB Cape Cobras:
The Cobras have avoided the bad weather and with a record of 4 wins and 1 defeat they top the table with 17 points.
In their most recent outing the Cobras took on the Knights at Newlands and the game looked to be slipping away from them as the Knights required just 31 off the final 4 overs with 7 wickets in tact. Not for the first time this season the Cobras bowlers led by Rory Kleinveldt, Vernon Philander and Tladi Bokako kept the squeeze on the run rate and the Knights came up 5 runs short.
After 3 successive home games the Cobras now hit the road again and their away results so far comprise of a 5 run victory at the Lions and a 7 wicket defeat at the Titans.
Cobras batsman Janneman Malan will be looking forward to this game. In the first meeting with the Warriors this season he crunched 103 off 57 balls in Paarl where the Cobras chased down the 152 needed for victory in just 15.5 overs for a 7 wicket win.
