bmouth1718Our featured English Premier League match this weekend is Sunday's clash between Bournemouth and a Liverpool side who could go 5 points clear at the top of the standings

Bournemouth

Bournemouth are in twelfth position with 25 points from 19 matches. A 3-1 defeat at Spurs on New Years Eve ended a run of 6 wins and 1 draw in the previous 7, the only draw in that sequence came at home to high flying Villa (2-2) and a 2-0 win over Newcastle is another stand out result.

More recently Bournemouth were 3-2 winners away to QPR in the third round of the fA Cup and they now take aim at the league leaders.

Liverpool

Liverpool's latest league action came on New Years Day when they saw off Newcastle 4-2 at Anfield. Despite losing Mo Salah to the AFCON and Alexander-Arnold joining some high profile names in the treatment room Liverpool had too much for Arsenal at The Emirates in the FA Cup (won 2-0) an they also won the first leg of their EFL Cup semi final with Fulham 2-1 at Anfield.

Liverpool's only league defeat came at Spurs erly in the season but 4 of the 6 EPL draws this season have come away from home.

Recent Head to Head

The first league meeting this season took place at Anfield in August and Liverpool ran out 3-1 winners

The teams also met in an EFL Cup tie in Bournemouth at the start of November and Liverpool won it 2-1.

The Betting

At the time of writing Bournemouth are trading at 34/10 to win the game with the draw priced at 7/2 and Liverpool can be backed at around 7/10

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 0.47/1 and it's 0.52/1 for both teams to score

The Verdict:

Bournemouth have developed into a very good side, they were gallant in defeat at Spurs and prior to that their form and results were outstanding so Liverpool will have to be on their game here.

The Liverpool absentees would be of some concern but they do have the carrot of going 5 points clear at the top and it should be a good watch.

Right, into the player specials markets and I'm looking for an assist. Bournemouth's Marcus Tavernier has fared well in that department recently with 3 in his last 4 league matches and gets my vote.

Bets: Player Assists Marcus Tavernier 1+ at 44/10 with Betway
