liverpool1819Liverpool v Arsenal is the pick of Saturday's English Premier League matches whilst games between Norwich and Chelsea, Manchester United and Crystal Palace and Sheffield United and Leicester City are also on the radar.

Last Saturday 3 of 4 bets were landed incuding a 9/2 shot in the shape of Spurs to draw at Manchester City and Arsenal to win by 1 goal exactly at 28/10. Liverpool + over.2 5total goals came in just shy of even money but Aston Villa let the day's preview picks down at home to Bournemouth.

Let's begin with a look at this weekend's match results and under / over 2.5 / 3.5 goals coupon from Sportingbet.

Saturday's early kick off sees Norwich host Chelsea. Norwich were no match for Liverpool first time out, conceding 4 times in the first half before Teemu Pukki picked up a consolation after the break. Pukki then picked up where he left off in a home fixture against Newcastle last week, helping himself to a hat trick in a 3-1 win .

Chelsea have 1 point to show for their efforts so far. They also conceded 4 goals first time out when going down to Manchester United at Old Trafford. After putting in a good subsequent display in the Uefa Super Cup against Liverpool (lost on penalty kicks, 1-1 90 mins, 2-2 aet) they had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to Leicester last week, failing to build on Mason Mount's early strike.

I fancy goals and probably for both sides but the prices for over 2.5 and both teams to score? (yes) are on the short side of where I like to wager. There is a market with some bookmakers for both sides to score and over 2.5 goals in total and that will have to do.

In the afternoon kick offs we have a South Coast derby between unbetean Brighton and Southampton who are still looking for their first point despite causing Liverpool a number of problems last week. The Saints edged this fixture 1-0 last season but the teams drew 2-2 at St. Mary's and in 2017/18 both league meetings finished all square. The draw could be a runner again here.

Watford and West Ham have just the 1 goal between them in a match which I will gladly avoid and Manchester United are the shortest price on Saturday's coupon for their home fixture against a Crytal Palace side who have yet to find the net this season. Perhaps this is an opportunity for a home win with a clean sheet.

The other afternoon kick off is of more interest as Sheffield United host Leicester. Sheffield have done really well so far, taking a point from a trip to Bournemouth and then getting a vital first win, 1-0 at home to Palace . They haven't looked out of place and it will be interesting to see how they go against Leicester who drew 0-0 at home to Wolves before drawing again at Chelsea in a game they finished much the stronger.

Leicester looked a real hadful as that game wore on and could well have won the game. They might just have to much for the Blades.

That brings us to the Liverpool v Arsenal clash at Anfield and both sides have maximum points from their first 2 matches. Although they made short work of Norwich first time out Liverpool were a touch fortunate to win 2-1 at Southampton. Their goals have been shared around with Salah, Mane, Firmino and Origi all having found the net and they thumped Arsenal 5-1 at Anfield last season and 4-0 the season before.

The Gunners followed up on a 1-0 win at Newcastle with a 2-1 victory at home to Burnley. This will give us a much better idea of how they are shaping up in terms of challenging for honours and it's a formidable task given Liverpool were unbeaten at Anfield in the league last season, winning 17 and drawing 2.

Arsenal's strikers have also opened their accounts for the new season with Aubameyang scoring in both their games and Lacazette was the first goalscorer against Burnley. Arsenal's away form was suspect at times last season but despite the hiding at Anfield and a 3-1 loss at Manchester City they did manage to draw away to Manchester United and Spurs.

I might be pushing my luck after the City v Spurs game last week but I'll take my chances on another draw.

Saturday's bets:

Leicester to win at Sheffield United at 5/4

Norwich v Chelsea, both teams to score (yes) and over 2.5 total goals? (yes) at 8/10

Liverpool and Arsenal to draw at 38/10

Man United v Palace, Home side to win to nil? (yes) at 11/10

Brighton v Southampton match result draw at 9/4

Note all odds are subject to change.
