Manchester City v Liverpool and Sheffield United v Spurs are the English Premier League matches taking place on Thursday and we come up with a play for both matches.
Thursday's early evening kick off sees Spurs currently trading at a shade of odds on for their visit to Sheffield United. Things haven't been going to plan for the Blades since the season re-started. They failed to score a goal in 3 league games, starting with a 0-0 draw at Villa, a 3-0 defeat at Newcastle and another 3-0 loss at Manchester United. They also tumbled out of the FA Cup at home to Arsenal at the weekend although they did find the net in a 2-1 defeat. Still, they have had a fantastic season and although they have slipped back into mid table, victory here would keep their hopes of qualifying for Europe next season alive.
Spurs are 1 point better off than their opponents and they have played just the 2 league games since the restart. A 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United was followed by a 2-0 home win over West Ham but the gap to the top 6 is likely to have been extended over the course of the earlier midweek fixtures and they have little margin for error. Spurs should be the fresher of the sides and whilst not banker material I fancy they will have enough to edge this.

Manchester City v Liverpool had the look of a title decider when the fixtures came out in pre-season but City have already lost their EPL crown to their opponents here after a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea last week. They remain on course for 3 potential trophy's with the EFL Cup already banked and the FA Cup and eventually the Champions League now the main focus..
Meanwhile Liverpool can balance celebration with the opportunity to kick on and set more records in terms of matches won and points earned in a single campaign. When I looked at the betting I was surprised to see City as favourites at 21/20 and Liverpool as big as 23/10 whilst the draw can be backed at around 3/1.
This Liverpool side look like the ultimate professionals to me and at the odds available I fancy the away win here.
