Everton 2.05/1 Draw 2.55/1 Chelsea 13/10

Everton put in arguably their best home display of the season in a 3-0 win over Newcastle on Thursday. They were the better side throughout but had to wait until the 79th minute for the opening goal and they went on to seal just a second win at Goodison this season. Having being hit with a 10 point deduction Everton finished the midweek program fourth from bottom with 10 points, 1 better off than third bottom Luton.

Chelsea's midweek fixture comprised of a visit to Old Trafford and they went down 2-1. Of their last 8 league games 7 have seen backers of over 2.5 goals and both teams to score? (yes) collect and that sequence includes a couple of 4-1 victories on their travels to Burnley and Spurs. Chelsea remain in mid table with 19 points from 15 matches and a record of 5 wins, 4 draws and 6 defeats tells a story of inconsistency.

The Verdict

Chelsea have been blowing hot and cold whilst Everton are on a high after a solid win in midweek. It looks a tricky call and the value could be in the draw in terms of the match result odds but I'm hoping the trend of high scoring Chelsea games will continue.

The anytime goalscorer picks are speculative and come in the shape of Reece James (who I think will start having been on the bench in midweek) and Everton's James Tarkowski who is a big threat when making his way forward for set pieces.

Spurs 12/10 Draw 2.85/1 Newcastle 2/1

After playing out a 3-3 draw away to Manchester City last weekend Spurs lost 2-1 at home to West Ham on Thursday night, a fourth defeat in their last 5 matches. Spurs scored first in all of those games and their team news could be worth monitoring after Son left the field late on nursing a knock. After winning 8 and drawing 2 of their first 10 games of the season Spurs remain handily placed in fifth spot, 3 points behind fourth placed Man City.

Newcastle's 3-0 defeat at Everton saw them slip down to seventh place, just 1 point behind Man United and their opponents here. Their home form is excellent but their last 4 EPL road trips have delivered 2 draws and 2 defeats and aside from the loss at Goodison they also failed to score in a recent 2-0 loss at Bournemouth,

The Verdict

With a very lengthy injury list Newcastle could again be vulnerable whilst Spurs need to kick the habit of dropping points in games they could have put to bed. The home side also have more than their fare share of injuries to key players and whether Son is fit to start or not could have a big impact on the outcome.

I quite like the chances of 2-3 goals in total and I'll give the excellent Pedro Porro another chance in the anytime goalscorer market

Bets: Multigoals 2-3 at 12/10 with Betway

Anytime goalscorer Pedro Porro at 74/10 with Betway
