Betting Preview

Outright Winner

Plenty of PGA Tour regulars make up the field in Mexico this week with precious ranking points and prize money on offer:-

Justin Thomas – 6.00

World number 3 Justin Thomas hasn’t been at the very top of this game throughout 2020 but he is always in and around the winning positions in the events that matter and is justified favourite here.

Brooks Koepka – 11.00

Four-time major winner Brooks Koepka has endured an injury-stricken 2020 but his playing level continues to improve every week and he could take some stopping here in Mexico.

Harris English – 16.00

American Harris English will be hoping to build on his strong showing on the PGA Tour this season and he will fancy his chances at an event he has won before.

Abraham Ancer – 18.00

Home favourite Abraham Ancer always plays well in Mexican conditions and with his general performance level improving hugely this year, he could well compete with the big boys come Sunday.

Rickie Fowler – 25.00

As one of the most talented players never to win a major, Rickie Fowler continues to underachieve in the eyes of many but he has a game well suited to the quick conditions in Mexico this week.

1st Round Leader

Producing the goods over 72 holes is often the most difficult thing for any golfer to do therefore here are our first round leader picks:-

Daniel Berger – 25.00

American Daniel Berger has emerged as a major player on the PGA Tour in 2020 and his tendency to get off to fast starts could help him get ahead of the field this week.

Viktor Hovland – 30.00

Young Norwegian Viktor Hovland now looks fully at home on the PGA Tour and he will be raring to go after a couple of weeks off here in Mexico.

Brendon Todd – 40.00

2019 Mayakoba Classic winner Brendon Todd has had a quiet season in 2020 but he could relish a return to one of his greatest victories this weekend.

Top Ten Finish

With so many quality players assembled here in Mexico, getting into the winning enclosure could be tough but there are plenty of candidates to finish in the top 10 come Sunday:-

Tony Finau – 2.00

American Tony Finau is a picture of consistency on the PGA Tour these days and he will want to be very much in the mix going down the stretch on Sunday afternoon.

Marc Leishman – 4.50

Australian Marc Leishman finished strongly at the Masters last month and despite some patchy form around that, he looks to be finding his A game once more.

Alex Noren – 7.00

Swede Alex Noren hasn’t enjoyed his best season on the European Tour, and he will be hoping to find some form on the PGA Tour this season and the course in Mexico should be a good fit for him.
