The Joburg Super Kings take on the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in a critical SA T20 League match on Sunday and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.

The Joburg Super Kings are 4th on the log on 18 points with two games to play while their opponents, the Sunrisers are 2nd on the log, a point above them, but this will be their final match. The Sunrisers are almost mathematical certainties to make the semi-finals and the Joburg Super Kings are almost guaranteed of going through as well. They would need a victory here to be 100% sure.

Looking at the Outright Betting Markets the Joburg Super Kings are 33/10, the same price as the Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

JOBURG SUPER KINGS

The Joburg Super Kings last action was on Friday night against the Paarl Royals and unfortunately the game was abandoned due to rain. The Super Kings had won the toss and sent the Paarl Royals into bat and at the time rain intervened the Paarl Royals were 141 for 4 in 15 overs. The 4 wickets were spread amongst the Joburg Super Kings bowlers while Maheesh Theekshana was the most economical despite not picking up a wicket.

SUNRISERS EASTERN CAPE

The Sunrisers Eastern Cape were also involved in an abandoned match down in Durban on Friday night. The home team had won the toss and sent the Sunrisers in and at the time the rain came down they were going along at a hearty 9.93 per over and were 53 for 3 after 5.2 overs. Adam Rossington was leading from the front with 35 of the 53 runs off just 18 balls.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

These sides previously met in Gqeberha in Match 17 where the Super Kings won by 5 wickets chasing down 128 to win.

Joburg Super Kings 8/11

Sunrisers Eastern Cape 11/10

Suggested Bet: Joburg Super Kings win at 8/11

Although the Sunrisers Eastern Cape will no doubt do everything to win the game, the Joburg Super Kings will be the more desperate of the sides and I am backing them to get the victory here.

Suggested Bet: Joburg Super Kings Top Bowler, Gerald Coetzee at 2/1

Coetzee has really impressed me the way he has stormed in and bowled with aggression and he has generally been amongst the wickets in the Tournament and I am expecting that to continue on Sunday.

Suggested Bet: Sunrisers Eastern Cape Top Batsman, Adam Rossington at 16/5

Bookies don’t have Rossington as the favourite and I guess that is because he can be a bit hit and miss, but when he does get going he certainly looks impressive and I think he really is going to enjoy this Wanderers track.
