After a convincing 8 wicket win over the Paarl Royals in their opening match things went wrong for the Cape Town side on Friday night when they lost by 5 wickets to the Durban Super Giants who chased down the 153 required for victory with 21 balls to spare.

MI Cape Town were sent into bat and a late cameo from Potgieter with 25 off 11 balls saw them reach 152/8. Roelofsen was top score with 52 at a strike rate of 118.

The Giants were always in control of the chase despite a top effort by Stone with 4 for 28 in 3.3 overs.

JOBURG SUPER KINGS

The Joburg Super Kings were in action in Fridays 1st match against the Paarl Royals. Winning the toss they batted first only to be bundled out for 81 runs in the 18th over. The best partnership of the innings was the final wicket pair of Williams and Phangiso who put on 26.

The Royals knocked off the runs with 9.5 overs to spare and 7 wickets in hand.
