The second legs of the Uefa Champions League Round of 16 get under way on Tuesday when when Lazio take a 1-0 lead to Bayern Munich and PSG are 2-0 to the good for their visit to Real Sociedad

Bayern 0.27/1 Draw 4.75/1 Lazio 10/1

Lazio edged the first leg 1-0 in Rome on the 14th February, Bayern's first defeat in this competition this season. They had Upamecano red carded in the run up to Lazio's goal and created little by their standards.

Bayern were unbeaten in cruising through their group. They dropped points in just the 1 match, a 0-0 draw at home to runners up Copenhagen whilst Galatasaray were third and Manchester United were the big casualties in fourth.

Bayern have a real fight on their hands in the Bundesliga title race where they are now 10 points behind Leverkusen. They have taken just 4 points from 3 league games since the first leg but their home record is still strong, 10 wins, 1 draw and just the 1 defeat.

Ciro Immobile scored the only goal of the first leg from the penalty spot on 69 minutes for Lazio to give them a slender advantage.

Lazio came through a pretty tight group as runners up to Atletico. They won 3, drew 1 and lost 2 of their matches. It was their home form which saw them through and on their travels they won 2-1 at Celtic but went down 2-0 at Atletico and 3-1 at Feyenoord.

In Serie A Lazio are in ninth position and although they could still realistically qualify for the Europa / Conference League they will not be challenging for the title this season. They had 3 men red carded in a 1-0 defeat at home to Milan at the weekend.

The Verdict:

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel has announced he is leaving at the end of the season and his side have been way below par recently. The pressure is on as unless they can reel in Leverkusen in the Bundesliga this competition is their only other chance of a trophy this season but they are still 1 / 4 to qualify for the last 8 via any method.

Needs must for Bayern and without any huge confidence I will take them to score 2-3 goals in the home team multi goals market

Real Sociedad 33/20 Draw 5/2 PSG 35/20

Sociedad have it all to do after losing the first leg 2-0 in Paris. They hit the woodwork in the first half and went into the break 0-0 but they couldn't keep PSG out in the second half.

Sociedad topped their group ahead of Inter with both sides on 12 points and Benfica and Salzburg were way back on 4 points a piece. They conceded just twice in their 6 group matches whilst scoring 7 and they finished unbeaten with 3 wins and 3 draws. They beat Benfica home and away and also won in Salzburg whilst their match ups with Inter delivered a 1-1 at home and 0-0 stalemate in Milan on Matchday 6.

In La Liga Sociedad are in seventh spot with a record of 10 wins, 10 draws and 7 defeats and they have suffered 3 defeats in a row, 2 in the league and one in the cup. At the weekend they went down 3-2 away to Sevilla.

Goals from Mbappe just before the hour mark and Barcola on 70 minutes put PSG in a strong position at the end of the first leg.

PSG were drawn in the toughest of groups and they squeezed through as runners up to Dortmund, edging out AC Milan with Newcastle fourth. They won their first two home matches against Dortmund (2-0) and AC Milan (3-0) and they scraped a 1-1 draw with Newcastle in Paris. Away form was very poor with defeats in Newcastle (4-1) and Milan (2-1) but a 1-1 draw in Dortmund on Matchday 6 helped them shade AC Milan for second spot.

In Ligue 1 PSG have lost just 1 of 24 matches and although they have played out 2 draws in their last 2 games they still have a commanding 11 point lead at the top of the standings.

The Verdict:

Mbappe, who is leaving at the end of the season, is still the key man although he was subbed off in a league game at half time at the weekend and he doesn't look particularly happy. I'm open minded about the second leg result even though it would take something special for Sociedad to turn the aggregate score around.

PSG's group matches delivered for backers of 2-3 goals in total on 5 of 6 occasions and again in the first leg and I will go with that trend to continue.
