I like the Roosters tomorrow, I think their forward pack has the edge on the Storm's. Also, Joey Manu comes back in at fullback to cover Tedesco (out with concussion protocol) and Joey was a tricky customer in the same position during the World Cup. I also love players returning to their old team for the first time, so expect a big game from Brandon Smith for the Roosters.

Roosters win @2
Roosters first team to 10 points in 1st half @2.8
Joey Manu try scorer @3.9

Somewhat tentative play on the chooks +2.5 @ 1.87

Think they have the stronger form line, but Hughes back for the Storm is big for them.

Good call @kompos!

Unfortunately I was unable to watch the game.
Expected more from the Roosters, especially for the first half. Storm normally a great comeback team but didn't need it in this one.

I'm wary of Thursday games but I have to go with the Dolphins today. Three things for me here. Wayne Bennett has a great record against the Bunnies, the Dolphins get their captain back, Bunnies had a blowout victory last week. Also, think there will be points in this game.
I'm on these:

Dolphins Win @3.7
Dolphins to reach 20 points @2.3
Tabaui-Fidow anytime try @2.45

Same, Bunnies on the plus, but took the +6.5 @1.72.

I also took over 38.5 points @1.91
and

Over 6.5 tries @1.67
Bet builder - over 32.5 points + Rabbitohs +14.5 @1.80
Alex Johnston to score a try @2.25
Brian To'o to score a try @2.00

I took the overs because they usually have high scores at this stadium (Accor).

Parramatta Eels vs Brisbane Broncos

The match is played in Darwin, hot (30s C) and humid (70s%), so I think we'll have a low total (I hope).

Bet: Under 42.5 points @1.91

Newcastle Knights vs Manly Sea Eagles

Two big names have not been selected for the State of Origin game and they both play for Newcastle Knights: Kalyn Ponga and Dane Gagai.
I expect them to want to prove something to the selectors.

The Sea Eagles are missing several players, either selected for the State of Origin game, or injured.

I'll take Ponga and Gagai in some try scoring bets combinations.

Because sometimes even playing against depleted teams the favourites don't cover the handicap, like it already happened this round when the Eels struggled with the Cowboys, I'll take an alternative handicap on the Knights win.

Bet 1: Newcastle -9.5 @1.74
Bet 2: Newcastle over 26.5 points @1.90
Bet 3: Double - Newcastle + Dane Gagai to score a try @3.25 - half stake
Bet 4: Double - Newcastle + Kalyn Ponga to score a try @2.75 - half stake

State of Origin - Game 1 in Adelaide

I don't like the total of 35.5, the number is bad. If a drop goal is to be scored, that number is useless, because you wouldn't have a 17-17 score.
The bookies know their stuff here, so I went for 36.5 points at lower odds, hoping for a 20-16 or something like that. I'd have taken under 37.5, because you can get a drop goal at a score of 18-18 and then that's the total, 37 points, but the odds get way too small.

Bet 1: Total under 36.5 points @1.71
Bet 2: Either team to win by 10 or less @1.66
Bet 3: Bet builder - Total under 40.5 points + Queensland (+12.5) @1.77
Bet 4: Both teams to reach 10 points @2.00

Penrith Panthers vs St George Illawarra Dragons

The Dragons are last on the ladder and the Panthers can go to the top with a win here.
Moreover, the Panthers have 3 games in hand, which shows the difference in class between this team and the rest of the league.

The Panthers will have a full squad for this match, and the star players will be eager to play and bounce back from their defeat in the first State of Origin game (NSW lost to Queensland).

The weather is good for rugby, the stadium will be packed, the cars have already filled up the stadium car park, the neighbouring car parks and all the adjacent streets with more than one hour before kick off, so we have the ingredients for a good match by the Panthers.

They have motivation, spectators support, good weather, so come on, send us our bets home!

Bet 1: Penrith Panthers -17.5 @1.85
Bet 2: Total team points - Penrith over 29.5 @1.81
Bet 3: Bet builder - Panthers -11.5 + Panthers over 24.5 points + Dragons under 16.5 points @1.90

Gold Coast Titans v Wests Tigers

Titans home games have been high scoring.

The Titans concede the most tries on the right side.
Also, they score the most tries on their left side.
Therefore I will take the two players that play on the respective sides to score a try.

Bet 1: Total over 44.5 points @1.91
Bet 2: Alofiana Khan-Pereira (Titans) ATS @1.83
Bet 3: Junior Tupou (Tigers) ATS @2.40

Bet 4: Double - Alofiana Khan-Pereira (Titans) + Junior Tupou (Tigers) @4.25

State of Origin

Queensland vs NSW

This is the second match and is played in Brisbane.
The first match was won by Queensland in Adelaide, 26-18, with two tries scored kin the last 7 minutes, after NSW were leading 18-16.
Several changes have been made to both teams, some due to injuries.

NSW have the team to do it, so I took them to cover the handicap and some bet builders.

Bet 1: NSW +6.5 @1.70
Bet 2: Bet builder - NSW (+14.5) + over 28.5 points @1.80
Bet 3: Either team to win by 1-12 points - mega boost from bet365 from 1.72 to 2.50

Manly Sea Eagles v Sydney Roosters

Both teams are in the fight to catch a play-off spot.

Roosters have injury issues while Eagles welcome back 5 players.
The odds on Eagles to win have dropped dramatically.

Bet 1: Manly Sea Eagles -1.5 @1.65
Bet 2: Team Total points - Manly over 22.5 @1.82
Bet builder: Manly Sea Eagles + Manly over 15.5 points + Total match points over 36.5 @2.15

St George Illawarra Dragons v Wests Tigers

Both teams are in the fight to avoid the wooden spoon.
This is a cellar derby.
Both teams have leaky defences and many of the Dragons matches ended as overs.

Several players return for the Dragons, including their team captain, Ben Hunt.
The Dragons scored almost 100 points more than the Tigers.

The Tigers concede many tries on their left side, with the last matches having got 4/ 2/ 3/ 2 tries on that side.
Mikaele Ravalawa (odds 1.72) plays on that side for the Dragons and he scored at least one try in four of their last five matches.

Bet 1: Dragons @1.60
Bet 2: Over 42.5 points @1.68
Bet 3: Mikaele Ravalawa ATTS @1.72 - half stake
Bet 4: Bet builder - Mikaele Ravalawa ATTS + over 28.5 points + Dragons (+10.5) @2.00 - half stake
Bet 5: Bet builder - Dragons + over 37.5 points @2.05

Penrith Panthers vs Canterbury Bulldogs

Big inclusions in the Panthers team, with the Origin players rested last week now eager to play.

Super star Nathan Cleary returns after an injury that sidelined him for several weeks.

The Bulldogs are missing two of their stars, which for a team that already struggles in the basement is a big impact.

A full strength Panthers team should feast on the Bulldogs on a beautiful sunny winter day, 18 centigrades at kick-off at home in front of a packed stadium.

Bet 1: Penrith -29.5 @1.83
Bet 2: Penrith over 37.5 points @1.75
Bet 3: Penrith over 6.5 tries @1.75
Bet 4: Penrith -33.5 @2.16 - beer
Bet 5: Penrith over 41.5 points @2.29 - beer

Wests Tigers vs South Sydney Rabbitohs

The Tigers keep losing and they are rooted to the bottom of the ladder.
Last round they lost to the team that was sitting just above them.

The Bunnies welcome back Latrell, who will bring energy to the team, he's a big boost.

The Panthers had a similar match last round and conceded two tries in the final minutes and the handicap went down the drain.

In the last 5 matches the Tigers conceded 12 tries on the left side, where Taane Milne plays for the Rabbitohs. He already scored a couple in their previous encounter.

Bet 1: Rabbitohs over 34.5 points @1.87
Bet 2: Taane Milne to score the First, Second or Third Try @3.75 - beer
Bet 3: Bet builder - Rabbitohs over 26.5 points + Rabbitohs (-11.5) + Taane Milne ATTS @2.33 - beer

Melbourne Storm vs Parramatta Eels

The Eels are missing many players on their left side, and there is the opportunity for a try.
Will Warbrick plays on the right for Storm.

Both teams are motivated for the win and the matches between them are can go any direction.
Storm lost surprisingly last time out to Newcastle Knights, so I'd expect a reaction from them. Moreover, it is rarely that Storm loses two in a row, and playing at home, I hope they'll win.

Bet 1: Melbourne -4.5 @1.75
Bet 2: Total under 44.5 points @1.69
Bet 3: Will Warbrick (Melbourne) ATTS @2.00
