Taking a formline through Australia - gotta side with England minus handicap v Fiji.
Aus struggled in heavy conditions v Ireland pack esp 2nd half and went down by 20 (Aus prop going off had a big impact)
England have a big pack made for these conditions.
One concern are the changes to Eng starting XV.
Will wait to play Eng minus in play and in meantime will play an alternative double with:
Eng -12 Alt Handicap
Arg v Georgia Under 56pts Alt Total

Edit - I'll make it a treble with a bigger Italy + at about +25pts

Really enjoyed that Italy win, although I had nothing on them or the plus.

On the back of this NH dominance I have fired England -17.5

Heartbreaking to see the acca go out like that with Boks conceding 34 in shocking conditions

Gave my son a copy of the ticket and he was ticking them off and was looking forward to watching the England game with him and a big win on the line

Have a double ending on u62.5 but also liking England on the minus - they have to go for it as well after ireland got the bonus win

I feel you Brent! I had a 253/1 (shot in the dark) multiple with tennis matches and rugby.... to fall short with the Bok result.

Agree with the comments above including the Paarl pitch which in my opinion held up ok on Day 1 but was torn apart today

Unders just arrives in the last ensuring a decent profit although not the jackpot I was hoping for (hardlines on yours Matador) . Thanks Hanrick had a bit on England -17.5 as a bit of a hedge against the points play

One thing I am happy about after today is France outright - I expect them to be close to 1/1 after the demolition of the Baby Black's

Spot on Brent, the tadpoles are at 1/1.

They were mighty impressive, with that mutant lock.

Can’t see any of the others stopping them to be honest. Managed to get them at 11/4 before the kiwi demolition, so let’s hope they come through!

Agree Chiefie, even at 1/1 they are still the play in my opinion

Here is a look at the groups and fixtures with my projected handicaps

Pool A
France 10,
Wales 7
New Zealand 5
Japan

France -32.5 v Wales - France will target the bonus but may step off the gas once the job is done.
New Zealand -28.5 v Japan - they can reach 10 points which will put them 2nd -if England and Ireland both win they def won't make the semis

Pool B
England 8
Ireland 8
Australia 5
Fiji 1

Ireland -26.5 v Fiji - Ireland will qualify if they win but may need points diff to top group if England beat Aus
England -12.5 v Aus

Pool C
Argentina 5
Italy 5
SA 5
Georgia 4

Italy -6.5 v Georgia
SA -12.5 v Argentina - SA will know what they have to do to top group or finish 4th on log if one of Ireland or England lose

Would probably take Ireland -26 from that. Can't see there being much running rugby again on Tuesday with the predicted state of the pitch. Fiji line out & scrum v England was a complete mess and there discipline was poor. Could see Ireland winning by 30+. Worry would be our flanker James McNabney was cited for tackle against Oz and Telfer who got the yellow card at end that was upgraded to a red card along with missing Hugh Cooney who got a red v England.

The bookies agree with you Flemenstar - looks like I was a bit shy on that one

France -32.5 (-28.5) v Wales
New Zealand -28.5 (-33.5) v Japan

Ireland -26.5 (-36.5) v Fiji
Australia +12.5 (+9.5) v England

Italy -6.5 (-4.5) v Georgia
SA -12.5 (-12.5) v Argentina

Not getting involved yet

Have backed Ireland -37 v Fiji. It's a lot of points but with probably coming down to scoring difference the motivation will be there, lot of Irish changes, strong bench to come on. May look at total team points when they are up.
Any idea what the weather will be like there tomorrow?

Double for me:
Fiji +37.5pts v Ireland
Italy v Georgia Under 53.5pts

Fiji scored 37pts v Australia
Wrong conditions for Fiji v England
Fiji have hard ground back tmrow and will score tries
10 changes to the Ireland side

On the handicaps there is only 2 I like. Fiji +37.5 and Argentina +10.5.

My focus will be more on points though. Expect points to flow.

Strongest fancies Georgia over 23.5, Fiji over 16.5, Australia over 23.5 and Argentina over 23.5. Have taken a multiple on those 4 at just under 10/1 and will back them individually.

Currently in Stellenbosch and weather is perfect here.

Thinking about the opener I would love to know the thinking of the 2 teams - in order to top the group you would think a bonus point is essential (even then Georgie will likely be beat) but are either team that ambitious or will a win putting them in the 5-8 bracket be more than enough for them?

I find myself leaning towards the over 51.5 but going to mull over it for a while.

Just hoping that the Irish players minds are right today, two Irish boys died in Greece in separate tragedy's over the weekend Max Wall & Andrew O Donnell they would of been good pals with many of the Irish u20 squad they played with St Michaels college. And yesterday Jack Olivers (part of Irish team) father Greig Oliver died in a paragliding incident whilst in South Africa supporting his son playing rugby. Desperate news may they rest in peace

Can see points flowing today - Weather is perfect for rugby and the fields have gotten some TLC!

Aus over 23.5 my best bet today - The Aus vs Eng match should be an absolute scorcher and should see plenty of points from both teams!

Fiji over 16.5 was tempting me hard, then Hanrick called it so i knew I wasn't too crazy and had to take it - Although this paragliding tragedy could really galvanize this Irish team (sadly I can't see it, tough ask of young guys to front up and they have rotated 10 players)

Aus over 23.5 & Fiji +44.5 @ 2.6 is my cheeky for today, onto a Georgia over 23.5 & Fiji over 16.5 @ 3.3

I totally forgot about the other games and quickly did my lines before reading your post

Italy -9.5 v Fiji
Argentina -14.5 v Japan
New Zealand +3.5 v Australia
Georgia +5.5 v Wales
France -14.5 v England
Ireland -13.5 v South Africa

I will show local lines against my caps later but based on your post I got Georgia wrong and I totally agree on Australia

WSB out with the 1-4 semi's - their in brackets

France -14.5 (-10.5) v England
Ireland -13.5 (-7.5) v South Africa

I like both minuses but the strongest on Ireland - just want to hear a bit more around team news etc from those in the know before pulling the trigger

France now 6/10, Ireland 9/4, England 8.6/1, SA 12/1 at Betxchange

A few darts today on:

Japan over 20.5pts v Argentina

B Gleeson Anytime Try scorer
Gus McCarthy Anytime Try scorer
Both v SA

France win 11 -20 pts v England at 11/4 - 3/1
