I wonder what I'm going to be called after this post, it should be interesting.

Having a look at the current log, there are many permutations regarding the composure of the final 4 teams. At this stage barring a catastrophe, it looks as it the Free State will comfortably qualify. It gets a lot more hazy after that because the other unbeaten team, the Lions are quite capable of losing all their remaining games games based on their relatively fortunate victories against both Pumas and Mountain Goats. I think we can fairly confidently write off the Pumas at this stage. The one team that seems to be extremely vulnerable imvho with this being a single round competition, is Province. Two losses out of three put them in a precarious position. Their remaining games are as follows, Pumas at home should see 5 points. Griquas away follows and this could be the defining game of their season. If they lose this, and I reckon its a huge possibility, they will probably be gone and buried unless other results go their way. Final game is the Free State away and on current form thats going to be tough.

Interestingly the Bulls find themselves in a similar situation to Province but in my opinion have a slightly easier run in. They have Griquas at home, another possible season decider, then the Lions away and finish up against the Sharks.

A semi final without Province? Its a big runner from the looks of things

While I might have been a bit too crass with my comment, I stand by the core of my comment I made on Saturday night. When it comes to punting there is nothing I hate more than someone who didn't make a call before a game and then wants to sound clever after the game. Add in that I lost a small fortune on the game and you are sure to get that kind of reaction from me if you're going to kick me while I am down.

Let the battle begin www.twitter.com/hanrickswart

A bit too crass? You think?

When your punting excesses change you as an individual maybe its time to take stock and change the amounts wagered. I have been there so I know what I am talking about, this is not judging you.

Because you got done does not mean that I will not celebrate a team that I support beating the team that you do. That does not make me clever it makes me a supporter.

I am 100 % backing Hanrick on this one, this is a punters forum to suggest and discuss Rugby. If you don't want to share pre-games betting that is up to you but don't wash out your mouth afterwards. We are all part of this Forum for the same reason and that is rugby punting to help each other. If you want to celebrate your wins without punting before the game please join a supporters group.

Catsmug probably never had a decent punt on any game to understand the mutual respect we've got for fellow punters who are willing to put our money where our mouthes are.. As previously mentioned this is a betting forum. Not a supporters forum.

Sunbet also out

Cheetahs (-16.5)
Sharks (-8.5)
Bulla (-7.5)

Quite a difference in the way those 2 books have opened up on the Bulls v Griqs game

Hi all, long time no post. While we're on a bit of tangent, I was wondering about should I share my bets or not because I really mostly play for pennies and don't consider myself a huge expert or something but I love sport. I do watch all the shows etc, and all the stuff put out there is super appreciated. I play mostly for fun though so just not sure if I should give my picks and then perhaps negatively sway an opinion or something.

That's the beauty of a forum, sure at certain times issues may raise it's ugly head but for the most part, ALL opinions are appreciated and welcomed regardless of the size one may or may not stake! We're all passionate about sport here so you post what makes you feel comfortable with ;)

Cheers guys :) also probably a given that everyone is responsible for their own bets, it's just always fun to give my picks and discuss, etc. That said here are my current bets:

Took a double: Lions +16.5 / Pumas +8.5
- Cheetahs looking great but I'm kind of baffled by that huge cap. They beat a solid looking Pumas team and WP so I feel pretty safe with that margin.
- Pumas really hard done by TMO decisions twice already in 3 rounds and going against a bit wonky Sharks team. Pumas have really impressed me so far and can see them staying within a try here.

Also, didn't want to start a new thread for this, but I took a good percentage bet on NZ -9.5 against Aus for next week. Aus looked very good past weekend but still only managed a 6pt win over a very poor Arg. Can see NZ wanting to stomp their feet after the draw and don't think Aus will be able to do anything about it.

Anywho, those are my bets currently :) good luck all

NZ -10.5 @ 9/10 my main bet next week.

All Blacks will go for a fast pace game and run the Aussies hard all game. The Aussies just can’t defend for 80 minutes under this pressure, seen that against Boks. All Blacks will be targeting the bonus point and a good points difference to put the pressure on boks to get the bonus point win in Argentina which won’t be easy.

I also really like the All Blacks -10.5.

Australia doesn't look like a good team at all and the All Blacks will probably fire after last weekend.

I missed Argentina+9 unfortunately. Will wait and see what the teams look like for that game.

South Africa-6.5 is available at Sunbet which looks appealing. But beating Argentina in Argentina is a tough ask.

I will advise later if The Handicap and GGGaming shows will go ahead tonight.

Basically Google are doing away with Hangouts the app used to do the shows. Meant to be from 1 August but hoping they keep it going a while.

Chris and I are working hard on an alternative and think we are close but would not be ready for tonight

Be in touch later

Best bet for me in the Pacific Nations is Japan -12.5 v Tonga.

Assistant coach Tony Brown appeared on "The Breakdown" earlier in the week, and appeared very confident after strong performance in beating an inform Fiji. Tonga's first game in the series in Apia mud, not exactly a good warm up for away game against Jamie Joseph's Japan.

Also have $ on Japan to beat Russia -19.5 first round RWC - they appear to be on track.

Good Morning Brent,
Do you guys eat boerewors for breakfast with your eggs or prefer boerewors with boerewors?

We do not seem to get Currie Cup coverage here and tab nz offers very few options, accordingly been following Pacific Nations Cup, which has been fantastic, predictable and great for pre RWC. I did post my best Pacific bet on forum and always surprised that some punters get so upset when post game comments are made. In fact it is fair to say that some punters should have been given yellow or red cards last week. We do like to encourage our wives / girlfriends / female ruggers to have an informed bet. Cannot show them your forum!

Anyhow I can help you with a rugby punt to recover some of your loss - we call this a purchase of currency downunder. They do not come along very often, but here is one tailor made for seasoned superugby punters.

Double max bet on Tasman in first round Mitre10 Cup v Wellington @ $1.58. Will take the line as well but surprisingly it is only -4.5. Tasman is chock full of Crusader Academy, Crusaders and fringe All Blacks. Previously coached by Leon McDonald. Pre-season they smoked Ranfurly Shield holders Otago. At home, they will come out of the blocks strong winning both halves. Get in now before it gets tipped on "The Breakdown"

Cheers 3P
