One good thing about fixed odds (as opposed to spread betting) is that no matter how wrong you are you still lose the same amount and I could not have been more wrong with the Sharks Newsletter bet play of over 21.5 points - they were awful against the Bulls and given how the handicap came in the bookies must have been smiling after that one.

I managed to salvage a profit on the weekend with a chunk play on the Australia +11. v the Boks - things could have been very different though as the bet I was planning to fire was Australia over 1.5 tries and my cut off was 8/10. The price was 4/6 and so I decided to go with the handicap. Result the cap never really in doubt but they only got 1 try - the weekend could have ended very differently

Onto this weekend and we have the RC double header, the return of the NPC and the start of the Premiership

Rugby Champs
Bookies were quick off the mark with the handicaps for this weekend and I saw theirs before I did mine and it is always hard to do them once a line has already been set. Below the current caps at WSB

Australia+8.5 v South Africa
Argentina +25.5 v New Zealand

They both look about right

Bristol on the board at 1.90 (still available at 1.8 )
Sarries missing loads of players ( Mako, Farrell, Daly, Malins, George, Koch, Itoje, Van Zyl) and got smashed 33-3 by Ulster this week end.
Could be a closed one but expect Bristol at home with a sold out stadium (TBC) to win that one

On the NPC, 4 games this week end and expect Waikato to beat Canterbury (up to 1.93 on the board) but waiting to see if crowd will be allowed before any move

Bristol without Semi Radradra, Kyle Sinkler, Naulango, Byrne , Joyce and Purdy. Maybe Morahan and more as well
Max Malins and Ben Earl back for Sarries from Bristol.
Cant wait to see Simpson as n9 for sarries

Taken some Argies +28 @ 1.91

Purely on basis of weakened ABs team, esp McKenzie at 10 which I'm no fan of

I cannot trust the Argies. They going to try limit the damage that they going to face and bring up their negative game ,like they did earlier against the Boks without thinking to score for themselves. And the Boks are dangerous after a lost.

Rugby champs -

Aus v Boks -

Boks over 27.5 @ 5/6

Undercooked last week out of quarantine, expecting better and hopefully a fast start.

Smaller bet last try McDermott 20/1-
snipey 9 off bench against tired legs.

NZ v arg -

Arg over 12.5 so tempting and took similar last week but they have been aweful and I can’t bring myself to back them again.

NZ 21-30 pts win @ 4/1

Smaller bet last try B Barrett @ 14/1

Just confirming a perfect day in Brisbane.

Predicted to be about 23 degrees around kick-off (AUS vs SA match), humidity 50% so NOT your standard hot and humid Brisbane today - comfortable conditions.

The Wallabies have won their last 9 test matches at Suncorp Stadium (NZ x2, France x2, Boks x2, Argentina, Ireland, Italy), so a real opportunity and added incentive for the Boks to end that streak today.

AUS vs SA:
Marx ATS @ $3.50
Marx Last tryscorer @ $15
Total points: Under 48.5 @ $1.90

ARG vs NZ:
Hoskins Sotutu ATS @ $2.50
Argentina over 6.5 - First half points @ $1.90

Good luck!

You score 3 tries off a rolling maul, and now you do a front peel? Fuck off. Are the boks retarded?

OMG , what has happened to the Boks, very poor performance today , how will they compete with NZ on these last two performances , look a team lost and can't work it out.

Unders for me arrived somehow at 48.5 , couldn't bear to watch the last two min with the Books camped on the Wallaby line. But also had a large bet Aus under 20.5 so a square game. All over WW later and unders in the same game.
WW still 10/11 in places here in the UK and unders 47.5

Looking at this next match I'll have small bet Pumas plus 25.5, bigger under 54,5 total and smaller NZ under 39.5 to Join Hanrick.

Nice to see the Argies show a bit of fight in 2nd half, which I'm glad helped the plus arrive. Had written it off at HT.

Leicester Tigers +6 @ 1.91 placed earlier this week.
Line has moved but still think they'll win.
