Kick off today with the 7 stage Volta A Catalunya
Two mountain top finishes in stages 3 and 4. Rest lumpy bumpies. Last stage finishes with 6 circuits in Barcelona. If you appreciated the Mohoric descending skills in Milan - San Remo then you may remember Thomas deG riding away from him downhill in the final stage last year.
I have no stage betting at any of my books yet so just the two outrights at present

Volta A Catalunya Outrights
Win
Looked good at Paris-Nice and no Roglic here. No crashing and he wins
S Yates @ 15/4
1-3
Almeida @ 13/4

Volta A Catalunya Stage 1
171km Today with a kicker 3km from end and the finish at around 4%. Thomas dG has won here before so he gets a spot although weather is predicted to be poor. Have seen Soler take risks in the wet and one from the probable bunch finish
Win
Bauhaus @ 13/1
de Gendt @ 30/1
Soler @ 100/1

The next few stages look very interesting

Woods lost 33 sec in stage 2 which was chaotic with cross winds and crashes - He is still close enough to win this and I am backing him to win the race at 20/1 with double the stake on a top 3 at 5/1

Not sure what happened to my man Laas from Bora yesterday but all the workers ended 5 min down. Presume they were needed to get Higuita or Hindley back in play.
With Woods and Yates losing time yesterday the 10/6+4 on the line becomes crucial so I make it a very likely GC finish today.

Riders dropping like flies after two years of isolation with flu and bronchitis. Colbrelli a lucky man there was someone on the spot with the ability to restart his heart.
Will finish the week marginally in the black with yesterday's 40/1 even if we make nothing else - but we keep trying

Volta A Catalunya Stage 4
Mountain top finish again today but more climbing in total. Mr February from GC, Tolhoek from break and Chavez because this is his type of stage but probably too early in his season.

Quintana @ 15/4
Chavez @ 35/1
Tolhoek @ 40/1

First George had me out of my seat and then I felt confident Higuita would have the strongest final kick. Alas it ended as one of those days...

One of those classic Belgium races today - 204km around Harelbeke.
Lots of little leg sapping climbs on narrow roads. Wout vA riding so the fave by miles but I fancy this guy could podium or even surprise

No idea what happened to Kragh Andersen yesterday - never mentioned and did not finish.
Volta A Catalunya
169km Today with a Cat 1 virtually out the gate. Break away with the right make up stays. I have to find another local book. None of mine carry Tolhoek or Vannhoucke who are favorites of mine on stages like this.

Impey @ 25/1
