Currie Cup Midweek, Super Rugby Pacific, Gallagher Prem, URC 23-27 March

For the 2nd week in a row I was royally screwed by Munster - last week they came back against the Bulls at Loftus to destroy my Bulls -6.5 and this week I had them to win against the Lions (as well as overs) and they blew a massive lead and failed to score a point in the 2nd half.
The awful newsletter Best Bet run continues but it wasn't all bad news as the 11/1 acca landed thanks to the Rebels, Italy, a last minute Italian try and the French beating the handicap against the English.

Well done France and well done Italy - what a tournament it was to watch

Back to bread and butter rugby this weekend starting with midweek Currie Cup ( click here for separate Varsity Cup thread ) - here are my Currie Cup handicap projections

WP -6.5 v Pumas
Sharks +3.5 v Cheetahs
Lions +13.5 v Bulls

Team selections will be important especially for the Bulls who I reckon may rest a few players.

Super Rugby Pacific continues and hopefully we get a full house of games - my handicaps below

Moana Pasifika +23.5 v Hurricanes
Rebels -6.5 v Drua
Force +6.5 v Brumbies
Highlanders +5.5 v Blues
Chiefs -0.5 v Crusaders
Reds -9.5 v Waratahs

The SA teams are in action against fresh opposition in the URC - here are my projected handicaps

Lions -11.5 v Ospreys
Stormers -7.5 v Ulster
Sharks -8.5 v Edinburgh
Bulls -36.5 v Dragons

There is also Gallagher Premiership action

Chiefs v Crusaders

I know Saders will be salty after losing at home a couple of weeks back, but Chiefs have stronger pack IMO (no Moody or Whitelock).
Chiefs at home with crowds (covid restrictions now removed), I think they're well capable of the win double.

Chiefs + 1.5 @ 1.91

there was plenty of thunder and lighting last night in cape town , but the sun is sitting beautifully over green point stadium today, expecting points and i have taken a decent strike on overs.

seen some comments on social and i completely agree as was also my early standout when seen Tahs side early am - it looks very green, a number of key players rested, Reds look full strength.

Tah's bubble to burst this weekend.

Reds -9.5 @ 10/11

Excellent show as always, confidence from everyone has made me go large on bulls and reds minuses. Was previously not fully convinced. Two bets I think are value if you can get hands on. I found them on Topsport and am piling in.

Force vs Brumbies - tribet 11pts or under at 1.82
Chiefs vs Saders - tribet 9pts or under at 1.96

Both cracking value for effectively even value odds, see both staying extremely close. Force brumbies had tribet 9pts or under at 2.06 if you want juicier odds, however I feel more comfortable with a try+penalty difference. Good luck to all

Brumbies 10/11

Unfortunately i can not have the Crusaders losing back to back fixtures against the same opposition. They conceded 14 points in the last 5 minutes in the previous match. That wont happen again.

Rugby - Six Nations Women

France W vs Italy W

France will have taken huge confidence from their twin successes against the Black Ferns.
But after the success of their men’s side, the atmosphere in France is a happy one and they are making no secret of their ambitions.

The head of the French women’s set-up Thomas Darracq said: "It’s true that the schedule is favourable with three home games, two away from home and we hope a final against England for the Grand Slam."

Other Six Nations teams destroyed Italy at the last edition, and given France W's recent results I think this handicap will be covered.

Bet: France -33.5 @1.89

Exeter v Leicester

When things are this close you've got to go with the home team. Exeter to win 10/11.

Edit: Not close at all, bookies and me got this totally wrong. Exeter nilled at 1/2 time - don't know if that's happened before.....
