Cronulla Sharks vs Manly Sea Eagles

Both teams come into this match with a number of players out through injury.
Both teams have started this season very well, with 4 wins of their last five matches, equal on points, 4 wins and 2 defeats.
These two teams gave us high scoring matches in their last two encounters, both meetings ending with the same score, 40-22, each getting a win.
I think this match is going to be tight and high scoring.

Brisbane Broncos vs Canterbury Bulldogs

Both clubs showed promise in the first couple of weeks, but neither has managed to go on with it, and they now sit 14th and 16th on the ladder, respectively.

The Broncos returned 20 good minutes of footy against the Panthers, but they ultimately ran out of steam and were outclassed in Round 6, and leaked another forty points.

Things weren’t a lot better for the Bulldogs who allowed the Rabbitohs to convert 36, while showing some early resistance as well.

Playing at home, I give Broncos a good chance to win this, as if they cannot beat the Bulldogs (currently rock bottom), then I don't know who they can.

Wests Tigers v South Sydney Rabbitohs

The Tigers finally won a game last week, when they beat a top 4 team, Parramatta by 1 point.
Other than the surprise loss in the first round to Broncos, the Rabbitohs lost only to Melbourne and Penrith, play-off contenders.
The Rabbitohs are still the stronger outfit of these two, and I expect them to bring the Tigers back to earth.

Newcastle Knights vs Parramatta Eels

The Eels look well placed to bounce back from a shock defeat to Wests Tigers last week, 20-21, after a drop goal in the last minute.

The Eels line up opposite a pretty inconsistent and one-dimensional Knights outfit.
The Knights suffered another defeat last weekend, this time to the Dragons, and they have now been winless for four rounds.

I think that the Eels, 4W-2L, will come back and make a real statement.

Penrith Panthers vs Canberra Raiders

The Panthers can record another big win over the down-and-out Raiders here.

Penrith have won all their 6 matches so far, having the most points scored and the tightest defence in the league.
Their forwards are firing, their backs are fit and scoring plenty of points.

The Raiders are almost the exact opposite of that, and they blew a 12-0 lead against North Queensland in Round 6 to ultimately lose.
They don't look like the play-off contenders that they were only 1-2 years ago.

Melbourne Storm vs New Zealand Warriors

The Storm have started to look scary again and they should take care of business easily here.
