I see Conductor has made a play for the bulls at -8.5 - Happy to tail this and the Clermont call (I can pick up some -5.5 for 1.91 on 365)

I like Montpellier outright - happy to take anything over 1.7. A small play at Ulster +3.5 too.

I have the opposite feeling in Clermont-Stormers match. All over Stormers +5.5 even with the absences they have.

Clermont very irregular this year and if Belleau starts at 10 I will take Stormers dnb as well.

Racing +3.5 my biggest fancy as they rotated heavily last week and very difficult to beat in Paris. Agree on Bulls -8.5, Lyon never a good traveler and poor record in this competition.

With Deon Fourie back the Stormers will have good knowledge of French rugby and Money Libbok is on fire! Stormers +5.5 is surely a gift of a bet?

And I forgot to mention Castres @1.93 in some exchanges. They are not interested in Champions Cup (as every year) and they will rotate for sure but they are almost unbeatable at home. 27 matches unbeaten in a row in Top14 and last year two narrow defeats in CC at Pierre Fabre with their B team against two powerhouses as Harlequins and Munster.

Perfect trolling team.

Looks like sharp money coming in for the Stormers. www.sarugbymag.co.za/stormers-to-deploy-big-guns-in-cup-debut/
Also sounds like they'll be going full strength. What makes you fancy Clermont?

Price is about right given no team line up been name yet.

Reason for fancying Stormers obvious given they been in form and been chucking the ball about last 2 weeks, looking good in their wins. Meanwhile Clermont is a shell of a team compare to yester years.

Yet against that......its 0c in Clermont on Sat, it will be a big occasion, the Michelin is a place and a half. Stormers might just be too green to win this match. Stormers away record isnt great similar to most rugby teams,Penaud makes a big difference to this team and he will play on Sat, I suspect Clermont will grind out an unimpressive win. The crowd will make a difference and the ref can ping Stormers off the park, for all this talk of Libbok playing well which he has been, they have always been a go forward pack. This might not be the case on Sat, and 10s like him behind a falling pack isnt the most reliable of vehicles.

Against Leinster ? Who're definitely gonna go all-in to win this CC ?

Racing is a team to be aware of. They defeated Toulon in Mayol with their B team and go full strength this weekend. Not in Paris but its a difficult team to beat in French soil.

With all respect to Toulouse and Saracens this could be the final. For me they should be favourites.

Malherbe, Roos, Orie all didn’t travel. That’s the 3 linchpins of Stormers forward pack (other than SK). That was enough for me to sway to Clermont when you add in home crowd, freezing temperatures.

If bookies do like last seasons, they will publish few hours before kickoff.

I miss those 2015-2017 years when they published early on mondays with plenty of value almost in all games ...

The bookies have been so tentative recently. I have noticed English books freezing lines recently around lineup announcement - they did not do this for the first 6 months of the season.

Gloucester -5.5 @1.90 2u as Bordeaux are resting players (french punter told me that Jalibert is sure to miss out and its a very big blow) due to poor performances in domestic league. Expect a mixed team and that´s enough for me to back Glos.

Double digits handicap

Bulls v Lyon Preview, The Conductors -8.5 is long since gone.

goodforthegame.co.za/Heineken-Cup/bulls-...review-and-tips.html

Wagering there is still mileage in the minus

Bulls -11.5 points at 9/10 WSB

I know BG usually allocates a unit stake, I'm more of a round ball and 4 legged punter these days so please excuse any greeness on rugga. I'll go level stakes on all bets and aim to get more right than wrong.

Benetton Treviso +6 @2 2u is golden. Strong italian compo while Stade Francais with mixed lineup and small interest in this competition.

Small stake in Benetton @3.20 as they look for the win tomorrow.

Friday nights match has me scratching my head , London Irish have named a strong starting line up whilst Montpellier to their credit have done the same ( certainly stronger than I thought ) they are worthy favourites but I think the Exiles represent a little value and will be on the plus 3.5 at 5/6 .

I have to back Stade Français on the cap (-4.5) vs Benetton this evening. Stade have won 5 out of their 6 home games and should have enough to see off a Benetton side that does not travel well (0/4 on the road in the URC).

Adding over 45.5 @2 2u in Stade Francais-Benetton game.

Cold weather but synthetic pitch and its Challenge Cup so expect soft defences, for me this line is valuable to go overs.

taken some Lyon +12.5 @ 17/20 Hollywood. Bulls B/C team but not going too crazy on stake as my knowledge of Lyon is limited.

Should be able to trade for a middle come tomorrow if want a neutral position.

A few spanners in the works with team naming -

Does Racing on the board not become a helluva lot more attractive now with Sexton out?

Probably quite a reactionary pick after last night's action but I have to go against the general consensus and back the Stormers. Despite conditions not being favourable, both Benetton and the Exiles proved that apart from Toulouse, the French sides aren't all that. I think this Stormers side have enough to get the edge up front and come out with a very narrow win provided they control the tempo of the game. Small bet on Stormers to win at 17/10.

Caught 3 good Friday all-to-win multis, and another 3 lined up for Saturday. Problem was I had Bath in all of them as -9.5 favorites, so, nothing. Nix.

And I can't even be angry, because the game had a 13 point swing against the handicap.

Drat but it was nice money if the result went Bath. :(

Bet of the Day: Sale (-1.5) vs. Ulster at a freezing AJ Bell. A full-strength Sale side should have enough to cover the spread at home against an Ulster side missing two of their most influential players in Henderson and Cooney.

Joined Sale win @ evens

Heard the Ulster squad are on 3 different flights landing at 3 different airports to get to Sale today, flying this morning. Not ideal prep at all.
