One of the greatest events in the world and glad Supersport have the rights.

I was hoping to get a bigger price on Luke Humphries to win outright but his the form man at the moment and 4/1 seems reasonable. One thing I have noticed with Luke, its that he doesn't know what it means to lose, he can be 4 legs down and still finds a way to win. I think we could get a bigger price on him than 4/1 in a match (provided his on the brink of elimination) than his outright price. So I will wait for that option rather than back him outright.

Night 1

Bully Boy the defending champ is the first of the big stars to start his campaign tonight and I am taking a speculative play to start the tournament. When Smith is in fine form, the 180s flow and his rhythm is fantastic. His opponent tonight will have 2 games and they should have the better chance for the most 180s in night one but I think Smith starts his defense with an emphatic statement.

Michael Smith most 180s on Day One - 3.75 (Sunbet)

Fancy a close match here so taking the odds on the French dude
Win
Tricole @ 7/4

Van Veen v Man Lok
Should be one-way traffic so going for the three dart market. Van Veen has averaged 96.4 in competition this year so this looks reasonable

Thanks Vann and I agree with your thinking behind both early matches tonight.

Van Geen is having a stellar 2023 and should be no match for Man Lok tonight and sadly the bookies agree. For me it was a toss up between Van Geen darts average vs him to score a 180 in every set.

His 180 per leg average this year is 0.33 and is as high as standouts Price, MVG, Humphries and Smith. Hoping he pitches up from the get go tonight and wins in a canter. Going the greedy way and taking the odds against here...

Thanks Vann, like that shout tonight.

Playing on a floor and with limited crowd involvement is hardly a factor for darts players, but when you up on a stage and a venue like Ally Pally, boy does things change.

Beaton is a veteran of the game and if not spectacular he is solid at best, now that he is well past his prime. He has been around for decades and knows how to play with the Ally Pally crowd.

The same cant be said about Nijman, who for the first time is facing the Ally Pally crowd and it is unknown whether he relishes the atmosphere or dwindles under pressure. A fact not known by many is that Nijman has served a match fixing ban, who knows maybe the crowd will remind him of that fact tonight.

One thing about the Ally Pally crowd is that if they like a player, they will make life very difficult for the opponent. The ever popular fan favourite Beaton should have the full support of the crowd tonight and I think Nijman could buckle with the adversity. A speculative nibble on Beaton to get the upset tonight.

Steve Beaton to win - 15/10

Day 6 Afternoon & Evening

I also like Ross Smith to go far in this tournament and think he puts in a solid start in 45 mins time.

Yesterday I fancied a 59 year old and today I am on the other and of the scale. Luke Littler is only 16 years old but has already shown that he is destined for great things in this sport. Tonight his up against Christian Kist who has been struggling recently and mentioned his throwing hand is giving up alot of pain. Kist has been suffering with Tendinitis in his throwing hand and mentioned ahead of tonight's clash that he hopes he will be pain free. Either way, I think Littler gets the job done tonight.

Ross Smith & Luke Littler both to win - 8/10

Day 7 Afternoon and Evening

For the afternoon slate I like Luke Woodhouse to get the job done, but will be adding his odds to a double to get a better price.

Where do you even begin with Luke Littler, a 16 year old kid who looks more like 30, but wow what a debut at Ally Pally. This kid is going to be a star for many years to come.

Unfortunately after his amazing performance yesterday, the books have woken up and have priced him well today. I think he will continue to showcase his skills tonight but his average should drop a little. He is a 180 hitting machine and I think his good for atleast 5 tonight.

Wow, what an incredible debut by Luke The Nuke last night! That was special.

Like you say, Naidoo, he is a machine with the 180's. Gilding doesn't throw a lot of 180's so that brings me to my bet for the day.

Luke Littler -2.5 on the 180's handicap at 9/10

Day 8 Afternoon and Evening

The Special One Jose De Sousa skills has unfortunately been declining as he gets older. However, his 180 stats are still at a high level and I think he should get the job done this afternoon against de Graaf.

Multiple Champion Raymond Van Barneveld headlines the evening action, and should progress to the next round. The Dutchman is still going strong at his age and still has a reasonable 180 average. I think he makes light work of Szaganski tonight. With Wright and Wade knocked out, there is extra motivation for Van Barneveld to put in a solid performance tonight and aim for a deep run in his Quarter.

Jose De Sousa match winner and most 180s - 21/20

Wow yesterday evening was quite a spectacle, first with one of the tournament favorites getting knocked out in Price and then an hour later it looked like another favorite in Humphries would be joining him.

I mentioned at the start of the tournament that Humphries doesn't know what it means to lose and he proved it yet again coming back from the brink and claiming victory. Crazy crazy BMT from the English man.

Day 12 Evening

Nothing catches my eye for the Afternoon action so looking ahead to the evening matches. MvG vs Bunting and Smith vs Dobey are coin flips for me and I wouldn't be surprised to see Bunting and Dobey pulling of the upsets tonight.

Normally I would be adding Van Gerwyn at 6/10 in a double as that price is a steal for him but Bunting is playing at another level at the moment.

Michael Smith has been struggling lately and neither of his wins has he looked convincing, I think Dobey could put him away if his on it tonight.

I think both games could go deep tonight and I am going overs in a double (yes, I am chickening out and not calling a winner, as I have no clue who wins either match).

Over 5.5 sets in MvG/Bunting & Smith/Dobey - 13/10

What an incredible tournament this has been with so much yet to go. I simply cannot believe the level we’ve seen from Luke Littler, the boy is an absolute revelation. Can’t believe I’m saying this but I think he breezes through both Barney/Williams and then Anderson to reach the semis:

Luke Littler to win 2nd Quarter @ 2.20

As for todays matches I’ve put together a little accumulator:

Heta/Van Peer Over 4.5 Sets
Clayton/Ratajski Over 4.5 Sets
Williams/van Barneveld Over 4.5 Sets
Anderson Win

Odds of 1.90

I don’t think any of these should have any trouble coming in.

As we wait for the evening session for Ando to cash our parlay, odds for tomorrows slate of matches are out and adding another parlay, this time a Luke double:

And one more parlay involving both todays and tomorrows matches:

Smith/Dobey Over 4.5 Sets
Gurney/Chisnall Over 4.5 Sets
Cross/Clayton Over 4.5 Sets
Williams/Heta Over 4.5 Sets

Odds of 1.86

Semifinals

Cross vs Littler

No disrespect to any of the players that Littler has faced so far, but I believe Cross is the first guy his facing who is currently playing at a world class level. For the first time this tournament, Littler could be under pressure and it will be interesting to see how he performs if he is behind. This should be a fantastic match and I am shocked that Cross is the underdog here. That being said, Littler is riding a train that has full momentum and I don't see it getting derailed tonight.

Demolition job in that Semi by Humphries.

I wont be betting anything for the final but I do think Luke Humphries will win. Littler has been brilliant throughout this tournament and will be a fan favorite for sure but unfortunately his coming up against an opponent who always finds a way to win irrespective of the match situation.

Humphries has had a breakthrough season and is the new world number one, he has his lapses in matches but has serious BMT. I think he finds a way to get the job done yet again in another final and concludes his remarkable season with probably his biggest success in his career.

Goodluck to anyone having a bet for the final and thanks guys for all your bets and input throughout this tournament.

Nicely done on the 180's Brent!

I have mixed emotions about the final. Very excited, but also sad that this amazing tournament is ending tonight.

I took Littler at 40/1 after round one and again at 9/4 before the QF's so stand to get a juicy payout if he could upset the very worthy favourite.

They way Huphries has played the his last 2 matches he looks very hard to beat. I will take cover on the 7/10 Humphries and hope Littler can somehow upset him.

Will also take 12/1 Humphries for a 9 dart finish. Could see that he was going for it last night and twice looked disappointed not to get it.
