We are back to Champions Cup and Challenge Cup action this week - no handicaps that I can see yet and I am not going to attempt them but will be back to normal next week
From an SA perspective Bristol host the Bulls and Stormers are at home to Sale
In the Challenge Cup the Sharks are at home to Oyonnax, the Lions travel to Montpellier and Cheetahs host Pau (edit I believe this is in Amsterdam)
I look forward to your thoughts when we get the early betting

Taken Racing +7.5 @ 17/20

Nevers strongest as possible while BOP with big rotation and only one hooker in the matchday squad (Nutsubidze, Sauveterre, Motoc, Matthews, Francoz, Matiu, Morgan, Joseph, Barry out). Light BOP pack and Perraux at 10 ...
Best home team of the Pro D2 against second worst team, it should be a big home win.

Re Munster - no discord in camp AFAIK
Issue is simple decimation by injury - and injuries to key players.
I have never known a Munster team to name a B side in Europe when qualification is still a possibility.

Good intel re teams from Pablo- Biarritz have been a shambles and punting a heavy loss away was the logical bet.
Think I'll give the Pro D2 a wide berth for a while. Perhaps top sides (at this level) are too complacent when heavy favourites

I think that the black Lion is going to beat Castres by more than 14.
Why ?
Because Castres are on a losing streak of 4 in all comps, the last win they had was Scarlets in early December, they're a typical French side (hot or cold) although their home record is not too bad, which I think is why the cap is so high.
The Black Lion meanwhile, blew away everyone in the Europe league that advanced them to this comp. They nearly beat Gloucester and easily dispatched the Scarlets, and they’re on a 4 match win streak.
They got a chance to make a statement about Georgian rugby and to go all the way to the playoffs to actually win the comp. Mostly they want it so badly they will put their lives on the line for the W. And I think they will win this match.
I believe it so much that I’ve put a quarter of my bankroll at both Sunbet and Pokerbet, on the following:
Black Lion +16.5 for 5 units 1.85
Win for 3 units at 6.50
Win by 8+ for 2 units at 15.00
Win by 13+ for 2 units at 36.00
If only the plus arrives, it almost gets me all-square.
This I’ve done now.
I’m also going to have a good stab at some others in the Challenge Cup. Namely Clermont, Sharks, Zebre on their minus caps. And our lions on the cap and the W.
Depending on how I do today, I’ll take a punt on the Cheetahs tomorrow also.
Guys please don’t take me seriously enough to risk more than you can. It’s just a feeling that I have, ok.
Good luck everyone,

Laraxwell - on Munster I think that was the general consensus (B team by injury)
Sharks v Oyonnax Preview
Sharks -26.5, as poor as they have been they have shown they enjoy a good bully session

La Rochelle seem to be hitting straps again with Aldtritt back. But Leicester are a proud English side in this comp and travel with a decent team that beat Saracens 19:10 last wkend

Really liked Glasgow but they've named a weaker side than expected , they've drifted from plus 7.5 to 10.5 as a result and will have a medium bet and hope they rock up .
I'm solidly on Lyon minus 9.5 , may well be squeaky bum time early on but expecting Lyon to pull away in the latter stages . Also on for less loot on the total points at 51.5 and going overs for a very rare moment .

Bulls were excellent , the Bears a well beaten side .
Ok , now we get serious , have some minus 31.5 and taking a little more minus 38.5 on Leinster .
The Stormers a much smaller bet , minus 11.5 earlier and pressing minus 13.5 .

Srrong Leinster team but they haven't been convincing.
Stade change much of the team from last wkend's home draw v Clermont. Stade have deep pockets and a deep squad.
38pts is a lotta points to cover

Ja, no well fine. A bit of a brain-fart here.Kirky wrote: So this is the punt that I’ve waited a month for, and the books have obliged me with a high cap of +16.5 and I think they've got the wrong favourite.

As is sometime the case, anyone doing the opposite to me would be a winner.
Ah well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. yech
Edit: Thank goodness the damage was compensated for by other bets, so no biggie.
But it looks like my 3rd loss weekend in a row - which is really not good enough

Cheetahs over 27.5 @ 10/11
Game in Amsterdam, might be a bit wet but artificial surface, sold out with a crowd that will be heavily supporting the newly adopted Dutch Cheetahs.

Not even close on last 2
Was invested in the Leicester + too
Tough wkend - some of these sides have become harder to read than the nags in the local Donkey Derby.
