ROYAL VENUS raced from a handy position over this C&D last time but found one too good in the form of Best Intentions. She carries a handy galloping mass of 53kgs and can earn another cheque for her patrons.

RACE 2
NIKES RAY OF LIGHT showed good speed over this distance on the turf last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Master Forester. He has finished second once, third once and fourth twice from as many starts on this course. The son of Red Ray may be rewarded for consistency.

COLONEL GREEN ran a fair race over this distance on the turf last time. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. He has cracked pole position and should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
RACE 3
GIMME’S LASSIE showed good speed over 1100m on this course last time but was touched off by Executor. She will have no issues with the rise to 1300m as she has won over 1400m previously. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is the best-weighted runner once again and from her good draw of three, she can go one better.
SUMMER ODYSSEY has fair recent form lines to her name. She showed signs of needing her last start over 1200m on the turf. The daughter of Master Of My Fate runs well for Richard Fourie and she is one of the leading contenders.
MONTELENA is the stable companion of the top choice. Her last two starts on this course have been decent. The daughter of The United States should earn another cheque for her patrons.
RACE 4
ELUSIVE MATA may have cost herself winning last time as she shifted away from the crop in the closing stages. The daughter of Elusive Fort meets the right field this afternoon and if keeping on a straight line, she should shed her maiden tag.
BEIJING BOULEVARD finished 2.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. With luck in running, she should pose a massive threat.
ICE CAP raced from a handy position over 1200m last time but found one too good in the form of Rain Bird. The daughter of Gold Standard should love the rise to the mile and Craig Zackey may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
Race 5
WALT WHITMAN was an impressive winner of his last start over 2200m on this course. He was slow into stride, but ran on well and won easier than the official margin suggests. The son of Canford Cliffs should have no issues with the drop to 2000m. He is a horse with ability and should follow up with another victory.
SAN QUINTIN finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today which should be enough for the tables to be turned. However,
WALT WHITMAN won easier than the official margin suggests and he may still have the upper hand. HEAD GARDENER finished 3.05 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 6
MASKED VIGILANTE has good consistent form lines to his credit. He set the pace over 1400m on the turf last time and fought hard all the way to the finish. The 6yo gelding should be ideally suited to 1300m. He is the stable elect with Richard Fourie aboard and can notch up his fifth-career victory.
EYJAFJALLAJOKULL moved up like a winner over 1400m last time but was touched off by Silver Tycoon. With a bit of luck from the widest draw of nine, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
STRANGE MAGIC is better than her last two starts suggest. The daughter of Erupt was reported to be not striding out last time. She drops in class and would not be a shock winner.
RACE 7
COASTAL PATH cost himself winning over 1300m last time as he hung inwards in the closing stages. He finished 1.6 lengths behind SWISS WALT in his penultimate run. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He gets the blinkers fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand. With luck from the widest draw, he can return to winning ways.
PASHTUNWALI finished 1.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. He has won twice and finished third three times from eight starts over this C&D. With luck in running, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
SWISS WALT was a tad disappointing in his last start over this C&D. On his previous two efforts on this course, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
RACE 8
KABON KAPI’S last three starts have been decent. She raced from a handy position over 1400m last time before lacking extra late. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. Luyolo Mxothwa is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
MISS SHAIVI should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung inwards in the final 300m. She finished second in her previous three efforts on this course. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
SI GIOCA stayed on when fourth over 1300m last time. She has finished second four times from as many starts over this C&D. If getting away to a clean start, she should be right there at the finish
