Our featured Betway Premiership match taking place on Saturday is the clash between Durban City and an Orlando Pirates side who are looking to go top of the log

Durban City

Durban City are just inside the top half of the standings with 19 points from 12 games. Their overall record comprises of 5 wins, 4 draws and 4 defeats and home form is strong with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat.

Kaizer Chiefs won here (1-0) at the end of September and a local derby with Arrows early in the season ended in a 1-1 draw. Chippa (1-0), Siwelele (2-0), Magesi (3-1) and Gallants (!-0) all left Durban empty handed.

Orlando Pirates

Pirates played a catch up game in midweek and made full use of it with a 2-0 win over Chippa in Orlando. That moved the Bucs up to 25 points from 11 matches and second spot on the log with only goal difference now keeping Sundowns on top and Pirates have played one game fewer.

Pirates have now won 8 and drawn 1 of their last 9 league outings, the only dropped points in that sequence came in a 1-1 draw away to Sundowns They have already won the MTN8 and reached the final of the Carling Knockout and although they didn’t make it far in the CAF CL, an early exit there could yet strengthen their hand in the domestic title race.

The Betting:

At the time of writing Durban City were 48/10 to win with the draw at 2.35/1 and Pirates are 0.68/1 with Betway.

A game of 3 goals or more in total is 1.65/1 and its 1.55/1 for both teams to score.

The Verdict:

City have done really well at home but Pirates have the carrot of top spot to aim for and on current form they will take some stopping.

Pirates had to be patient in midweek and this looks a trickier test but one I believe they will be equal to it although for a betting interest I’m with the visitors to score 2 or more regardless of the result.

Bet: Pirates total goals over 1.5 at 12/10 with Betway
