Burnley 78/10 Draw 48/10 Liverpool 1 / 3
Burnley have 3 points to show for their efforts so far. Their return to the top flight saw them go down 3-0 away to Spurs on the opening weekend but they put themselves on the board with a 2-0 home win over Sunderland in their second outing. Prior to the international break they twice fought back from a goal down at Manchester United but were denied a point when the home side converted a late penalty and they finished beaten 3-2.
Liverpool are the only top flight team to have won all 3 of their matches so far and they went into the international break 2 points clear of Chelsea who visit Brentford on Saturday. Most recently a terrific free kick from Szoboszlai late on in their home game against Arsenal delivered a 1-0 win. Ekitike was on target in both of Liverpool's first 2 matches, a 4-2 victory at home to Bournemouth and a last gasp 3-2 win at Newcastle. They have finally added Isak to their ranks from Newcastle, watch the media for news concerning his fitness and whether he could start.
The Verdict
Liverpool's clean sheet against Arsenal will have been welcomed by a defence that was under scrutiny as they prepare to take on a Burnley side who haven't done too badly so far.
Florian Wirtz has yet to really catch fire for Liverpool but I think he will come good. I had him down as something of an “assist specialist” when he joined and will give him a chance to prove me right here.
Bets: Player to provide 1 or more assist Florian Wirtz, was 2/1 boosted to 5/2 with Sportingbet
Man City 8/10 Draw 31/10 Man United 32/10
City's season started well enough when they thrashed Wolves 4-0 away from home on the opening weekend but since then things haven't gone to plan. They went down 2-0 at home to Spurs, a game where City battled to create clear cut chances and last time out they were 1-0 up at Brighton at half time but eventually finished beaten 2-1. Haaland has scored 3 of City's 5 goals in the league this season.
Bruno Fernandes sored a very late penalty to give United their first win of the season, 3-2 at home to Burnley in Round 3. Fernandes had missed from the spot in a 1-1 draw at Fulham in Gameweek 2 and on the opening weekend United lost 1-0 at home to Arsenal. United took 4 points off City last season including a 2-1 victory away from home.
The Verdict
City have been hit and miss, probably playing 3 good halves of football from 6 in the season so far and they have looked like work in progress. As for United I really can't work them out but Fernandes is likely to be in the thick of it and I'll take my chances he pops up with a goal for the visitors, any time.
Bets: Anytime Goalscorer Bruno Fernandes at 32/10 with Sportingbet
