BettingDiarySouth Africa take on Namibia in AFCON 2019 on Friday and we also focus on Jaguares v Brumbies in the first of the Super Rugby semi finals. Host nation France are involved in the Womens World Cup quarter finals, Copa America continues in Brazil and the Proteas take on Sri Lanka in the Cricket World Cup.

Super Rugby

We start with Super Rugby and a look at the first of the semi finals between Jaguares and the Brumbies which kicks off in Buenos Aires at 01:05 on Saturday morning.

Jaguares remain at home after a 21-16 quarter final victory over the Chiefs last weekend whilst the Brumbies do the travelling after beating the Sharks 38-13 in Canberra. This will be the second visit of the season to the Argentine capital for the Brumbies who lost 20-15 at this venue in Round 11.

Both teams finished the regular season in tremendous form and Jaguares are favourites to win at 5/10, the Brumbies can be backed at 17/10 and the draw at 33/1. The Brumbies are currently being given a 4.5 point start on the handicap. If you fancy a close game then check out our Tri-Bet market  where you can take the “any other result” option at 15/10 which effectively means your bet lands if either side wins by no more than 6 points and you also have the draw running for you as well. Bet on Jaguares v Brumbies here.

We will look at the second of the semi finals between the Crusaders and the Hurricanes in Christchurch in our weekend bulletin and all the markets for that game are available here.

International Football

Friday sees 3 matches take place in AFCON 2019 and the final game of the day sees Bafana Bafana take on Namibia in Group D. After losing their tournament opener to Ivory Coast 1-0 South Africa really need 3 points from this meeting with a Namibia side who are supposedly the weakest team in the group. Namibia did perform with credit in their opening match against Morocco and looked on course for a valuable point until a very late own goal saw them go down 1-0 so Bafana will need to put in a decent shift to boost their hopes of a place in the first knockout round.

The betting suggests Stuart Baxter’s men should be up to the task as Bafana are 15/20 favourites to win the game with the draw at 12/5 and Namibia are 17/4.  In the goals markets Bafana are 21/20 to score at least twice and 15/4 to score 3 goals or more. Bet on South Africa v Namibia here.

The other match in Group D sees Morocco clash with Ivory Coast in an evening kick off and any winner in this game will seal a place in the knockout rounds. The first match comes from Group E where Tunisia take on group leaders Mali who put 4 goals past Mauritania in their opening game. Both those matches look likely to be close calls with the draw likely to give us a run for our money.

Friday’s quarter final in the Womens World Cup see host nation France take on the USA. France eventually came through their Round of 16 tie against Brazil with a 2-1 win in extra time whilst USA have a 100% record in the tournament so far and the Americans are favourites at 13/10 to get the job done in 90 minutes.

In the Copa America it’s also quarter final time and Venezuela clash with an Argentina side who rather stumbled their way through their first 2 matches before a 2-0 win over invite nation Qatar secured a prolonged stay in the tournament. You can stream the match live on World Sports Betting TV. Bet on Venezuela v Argentine here.

Cricket World Cup

Friday’s action in the Cricket World Cup sees the Proteas in action against Sri Lanka in Durham.  Although South Africa have no chance of making the semi finals the Proteas are still short price favourites to beat a Sri Lankan side they whitewashed 5-0 earlier this year. We have a full match betting preview on this link where we look to Faf du Plessis as a potential Man of the Match. Bet on Sri Lanka v South Africa here.

Horse Racing

Local racing comes from Fairview on the turf track and the first of 8 races is scheduled to go off at 12:35.

We have ante post betting for the Durban July along with all the other feature races to be run at Greyville on the 6th July
