The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for 14th to 16th May and a weekend acca
The Reds beat the Brumbies after the hooter last weekend, but sadly it wasn’t enough to see the Newsletter Best Bet, Reds (-4.5) land. It triggered a run of poor results for me that eventually saw me going with the ill-advised tilt bet late on Saturday. The problem was I got the bet itself wrong, but more on that in this week’s Citizen Blog for Playabets titled “Tilt Bet Drama”
I was back hosting THE HANDICAP this week and Stoneman made a quick return to the show after doing brilliant work with the Oracle last week. He was joined by the The Conductor and we went through the Super Rugby Tasman, Rainbow Cup and Gallagher Premiership matches.
While there was a line on many of the games, one game where the panel differed totally was the Leicester Tigers v Harlequin game where Stoneman was firm on the Harlequins at (-4.5) while the The Conductor made Leicester (+6.5) a cracking bet. Listen to the show, if you missed it and make up your own mind.
Finding a Best Bet wasn’t easy (it never is after a losing week), one game where the panel and myself were all in agreement was the Sharks against the Bulls. I have been impressed with the Sharks in the early rounds and think this will be a close game that they have a good chance of winning and went for them in the Bulls v Sharks preview
The Bulls have since named a strong side though (and Hanrick sewed the 1st seeds of doubt in the live chat) and my preference is the Stormers minus away at the Lions. They have a powerful scrum and I reckon they bounce back against a game but possibly outclassed Lions side.
BEST BET: 5 units Stormers -3.5 at 10/11 at Sportingbet
