The newsletter Best Bet winning run came to a grinding halt last week when France failed to beat the -4.5 handicap against South Africa.
When the French missed the conversion which would have put them 3 points ahead I just knew that it was going to be costly and so it proved as they nailed another penalty near the end to win by 4 points resulting in the narrowest of losses.
Having won big on the Black Ferns in the morning that narrow defeat triggered a poor run for me which included the newsletter ACCA going down to the final hurdle namely Saracens -2.5 half-time handicap. I had not realised that the game was not televised and would not have selected it if I had known as there are few things worse than watching your bet lose on FlashScore (which is a great service by the way).
Anyway our last big week of International Rugby in terms of number of games and just a reminder that World Cup Soccer starts and Chris is previewing the matches and also looks at each group on the Goodforthegame website.

AUSTRALIA BETTER THAN BOOKIES THINK
On to my Best Bet and I am going to stick with my selection from earlier in the week being Australia on the Handicap. I took the early +13.5 and it has begun to shorten in places down to 10.5 although there is still 12.5 available at the moment.
More details in the Ireland v Australia preview, but basically I don’t think Australian rugby is as bad as it is made out to be and although the loss to Italy was a blow it was far from a full strength Australian side. I am expecting a bounce back this week and although I won’t go as far as calling the upset win I do think they can keep it tight against Ireland.

ACCA TIME
Last year it was the double figure ACCA’s that kept us out in front of the bookmakers, but this year we seemed to just be finding one leg to beat us each time and it has been a while since I hit one. That won’t stop me from trying though although I am dropping to 3 legs to try and change the rhythm and here goes with this week’s selections.
