I have been preaching about keeping stakes small on these RWC warm up games but taking my own advise has never been one of my strong points and I got heavily involved in France v Scotland last week. At 27-10 after 44 min the Newsletter Best Bet -16.5 looked in good shape and I was mentally banking my France over 32.5.

Fast forward 35 minutes and France land a penalty just to win the game 30-27 – carnage!

Fortunately Lucas Glover arrived in the golf at 110/1 in the St Jude to lessen the damage and the fact that it never put me up for the weekend is an indication of how much smaller my golf stakes are than rugby.

Instead of taking a big handicap or points play I will take my own advise and keep stakes small with a couple of speculative plays. Not Best Bet material but certain to keep us interested until the final whistle of the Boks game

Surprised to see him a bigger price than Marx in this market as Marx is unlikely to go much past 50 minutes

He should get a good run and his pace is a serious weapon as the game opens up
