The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for 23rd to 25th April 2021
There were mixed fortunes for us last week with our Best Bet going missing in the cricket only for the 11/1 ACCA at Playabets to arrive and ensure a small profit.
The heart breaking moment of the weekend for me came in the Waratahs v Force match where I had gone quite aggressively for the Waratahs to win at just under 5/2. They led 30-28, seconds from the hooter with a lineout on the half-way line, but rather than throw to the front and kick the ball out they went for a risky play over the back which was intercepted by the Force who scored some 20 odd phases later - absolutely devastating.
Talking of devastating, the news that the Rainbow Cup is not what we were expecting it to be is quite depressing, but it led to this week’s Citizen Blog where I suggested the British and Irish Lions must be good things for the 3 match series later this year.
GREETINGS FROM BRISBANE
Last night’s edition of THE HANDICAP was a real cracker and we were grateful to have Mitch Evans join us from The Rugby Fixation Podcast. Midge has to be up by 5am in Brisbane to make the show and he was clearly drinking something very different from our other guest, The Conductor.
The lads took us through the Super Rugby matches and The Conductor ran through his Rainbow Cup and Gallagher Cup fancies.
If you missed the show click here and there is also a podcast version available.
WARATAHS TO PUSH REBELS
On to this week’s Best Bet and it is hard not to get taken in by the enthusiasm of @ThoughtsOnSports for the Waratahs. There was (+9.5) available earlier in the week and at the time I wrote the preview there was (+8.5) at Sunbet. I went with Waratahs over 19.5 points and this line has shifted to 20.5 since the preview was posted but it still rates as our best bet of the weekend.
Best Bet: 5 units Waratahs o20.5 at 0.84/1 @Betxchange
