Thanks goodness for a Salesi Rayasi double that stopped me from bleeding out last week. Let’s put that one in the rear-view mirror as quick as possible and set our focus on making money in Week 5 of Super Rugby Aotearoa.

 

Highlanders vs Hurricanes – Friday 26 Mar @ 08:05, Wellington

 

The Canes looked splendid on attack against the Chiefs but couldn’t get the job done in the end. Under the Dunedin roof the visitors are destined to keep giving it air. The Highlanders come off a bye week but before that they were blown out of the water by the Blues. At times the Landers have looked well and truly competent but they just haven’t been nearly consistent enough. I can honestly see this one go either way so there’s no confident call on the cap from my side.

Dane Coles to score the first try for the Hurricanes @ 8.00

Coles is back and the free ranging hooker absolutely loves a meat pie.

 

Anytime Tryscorer: Salesi Rayasi @ 1.95

Tries should be a given in this encounter between two attacking sides. Rayasi had a bright start last week and I expect the winger to continue on his merry way in Dunedin.

 

Freedom Vahaakolo (Highlanders) to score the first try and Hurricanes to win the game @ 26.00

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Canes fight back late and pick up the victory. The new Highlander winger is someone who will bring plenty of spark.

 

Last Tryscorer: Ardie Savea @ 26.00

It’s been a lean season for Ardie Savea but I don’t want to miss out when he does eventually cross the chalk. Since I fancy a strong Canes finish this looks a nice price.

 

Chiefs vs Blues – Saturday 27 Mar @ 08:05, Hamilton

 

The Chiefs will be pretty confident after putting five tries past the Hurricanes in Wellington and securing a dramatic comeback victory. The Blues would have had their hopes set on toppling the mighty Crusaders but in the end never really challenged the Champions. Leon McDonald will have to get his side right back on the horse if they are to find their gallop again.

Akira has been lively without getting the result in terms of the five pointers. I am hoping he can change that this weekend.

 

Last Tryscorer: Tom Robinson @ 29.00

It’s been a slow season for Robinson with little game time. I’m trusting the Big Red Dg to come on and bring the fire!

 

Brad Weber to score the first try for the Chiefs @ 8.00

I have kept backing Weber and won’t be moving off that train of thought this week. The lively scrumhalf score a try against the Landers so hopefully he is now up and running in that department.
