REDSCouch Critic previews Force v Rebels and Brumbies v Reds in the fourth round of Super Rugby Australia including his best bets with @Olimp_SA

Week 3 was a bit more down than up for me as the Rebels performed above my expectations, but fortunately the Force held on to come through for us in the end to limit the damage. Let’s look ahead to Week 4 in the Aussie comp.

Force vs Rebels – Friday 12 Mar @ 11:45, Perth

At times last week the Force versus Waratahs match looked like a game of “hit the pinata”. The teams took turns to be the blind-folded, off balance and spun-drunk but ultimately it was the Force that stumbled to the sweet reward.

The Rebels again failed to launch as their rocket proved to be a paper plane when it came to threatening the tryline. They were however able to push the Brumbies all the way to the final whistle in a match the home side were expected to win with some room to spare.

Betolimp Bets:

Rebels to win @ 1.70

The Force stumbled past the Tahs but the men from Perth are still new to sipping the Champagne. The Rebels won’t do it pretty but they should be the more capable of two.

HT/FT Margin: Force (1-8) / Rebels (1-12) @ 10.00

I’m expecting a tight fight and this looks a big price.

Reece Hodge to score Anytime and Rebels to win by 6-`10 points @ 14.00

Sticking with the feeling of this coming down to a tight battle.

Brumbies vs Reds – Saturday 13 Mar @ 10:45, Canberra

After they handed out a beating to the Tahs in Week 2 many expected the Brumbies to continue on their merry way against the Rebels. The visitors however were able to keep the Brumbies honest and now we are left with the question – are the Rebels better than we expected or are the Brumbies perhaps not quite as solid? Alternatively it could also just be a case of the Horse not being at the races last week and possibly being stunned back into action this time around…

The Reds return from a break looking to come back as the Week 1 version of themselves (which comfortably had the beating of the Waratahs) rather than the Week 2 version (which stuttered past the Rebels). Again, we are left with a bit of a question mark as to which Reds team to expect in Canberra.

Betolimp Bets:

Reds to win by 1-7 points @ 3.90

At home the Brumbies are a very tough nut to crack but I just have a feeling this Reds side is capable enough to get the job done.

HT/FT Margin: Brumbies (1-8) / Reds (1-12) @ 11.00

A nice value play in my opinion of an expected tight tussle.

Alex Mafi to score a try and Reds to win the game by 1-5 points @ 16.00

Mafi has been in superb tryscoring form early doors and I’m hoping he’ll continue in this vein.
