SUPER RUGBY AU – 09 & 10 April

The Reds delivered as expected but it was the Brumbies who dropped the ball and cost us a profitable weekend last time out. Let’s look ahead to a new weekend of Super Rugby AU action and try and pick some winners.

Rebels vs Force – Friday 09 Apr @ 11:45, Melbourne

The Rebels had no answer for the attack of the Reds last week and let in 6 tries as a result. The only heartening thing for the Melbourne side on that occasion was that they didn’t completely give up the ghost after going down 0-24 in the opening quarter of the game. Notching up three tries of your own against the best team in the comp is something which should give the home side some hope for this match against the Force.

The Force ran the Rebels close in a dire game of rugby in the reverse fixture and the men form the West of the country also kept the Reds honest a few weeks back. I still believe the Rebels are the better of these two teams and we will see the home side prove this in Melbourne.

Betolimp Bets:

Double: Rebels to win onto Reds to win @ 2.12

I don’t see the Rebels tripping over against the Force and am confident that the Reds are a better team than the Brumbies at resent. The home advantage for both has me convinced that this is the best bet of the weekend for me.

Frank Lomani to score the first try and Rebels to win @ 14.00

The fast feet of Lomani could prove tough for the Force to contain.

Last Tryscorer: Jordan Uelese @ 19.00

A bustling hooker off the bench who offers more than just the rolling maul try option.

Reds vs Brumbies – Saturday 10 Apr @ 10:45, Brisbane

We are given a preview to the final in this clash. The Reds have shown in the comp thus far that no one can live with them when they put the pedal all the way down the floor. Brad Throne’s racers have at times let their foot off the accelerator when they haven’t been 100% focussed on the job at hand but on Saturday I am expecting a full gas display from the hot-rod Reds.

Betolimp Bets:

Reds -1.5 @ 1.82

The Reds have the fire power at their disposal to possibly pull well clear in the end.

Jordan Petaia to score the first try and Reds to win @ 17.00

Petaia has experienced a lean time of things in 2021 but he is too good not to start getting more involved. On the wing now I like his chances of getting over the line early.

Last Tryscorer: Filip Daugunu @ 11.00

Sticking with Daugunu to come on and have a big impact late.
