BettingDiaryOld Trafford in Manchester is the venue for the first T20 between England and Pakistan and the game takes place on Friday. We take a look at it from a betting angle.

The first point of interest to note in this series is that all 3 matches will be staged at Old Trafford and has had been the case with recent ODI’s and Test Matches there will be no spectators.

With the Test Matches, T20’s and ODI’s being played so close together England are effectively playing with two squads at the moment and Eoin Morgan will captain the side in this series. Pakistan are putting up what looks a pretty powerful squad which will be captained by Babar Azam.

Neither of these teams have had much T20 action of late with England’s last T20 match taking place in South Africa earlier this year where they lost the series 2-1. Pakistan were also in action earlier this year beating Bangladesh in 2 ODI’s .

As always in England there is a threat of weather intervening, but at the time of writing the chances of getting a full match look decent.

MATCH BETTING

England 6/10

Pakistan 14/10

SUGGESTED BET: Pakistan win at 14/10

I like the look of this Pakistan squad and I feel that England might be ripe for the taking in the opener. There is bound to be plenty of betting fluctuations during the match so make sure to keep an eye on the in-running odds.

BET: Top Away Batsman, Babar Azam at 15/10

This is a short price for this particular market, but indications of how dominant Azam has been in this batting line-up and the last time these sides met in a T20 he top scored for Pakistan.
