WEDNESDAY

BURNLEY v TOTTENHAM

Burnley got a much needed 3 points when they beat Brighton 3-0 on the road on the weekend and that result lifted them off the bottom of the table and into 19th. They previously put up a creditable performance to lose 1-0 at home to Liverpool and overall at home this season they have only won 1 of their 10 matches, drawing 6 and losing 3. Burnley home games have only averaged 1.9 goals each with only 30% of the matches delivering profits had you backed over 2.5 goals.

Tottenham pulled off a 10/1 upset on the weekend when they beat Manchester City 3-2 on the road and that broke a run of 3 successive defeats for the London based side. They have played 11 matches away from home winning 5, drawing 2 and losing 4. They have won 3 of their last 4 on the road. Tottenham’s away matches have averaged 2.6 goals each with 5 of the 11 games reaching the 3 goal mark.

Burnley 33/10

Draw 12/5

Tottenham 5/6

Suggested Bet: Under 2.5 goals at 15/20

When these sides play each other at Burnley the games tend to be low scoring and this bet would have arrived in the last 3 League encounters here and of course Burnley home games have been very low scoring this season.

LIVERPOOL v LEEDS UNITED

Liverpool are 6 points behind Manchester City and they have a game in hand. Their recent form has been good and they have won their last 5 in a row including beating Norwich 3-1 at home on the weekend. Overall at home they have won 9 and drawn 3 of their 12 matches and Liverpool home games have averaged 3.1 goals each with 8 of the 12 matches securing you a profit had you backed over 2.5 goals.

Leeds are currently 15th on the table and not quite out of the relegation dog fight. They have only taken 1 point from their last 12 and were beaten 4-2 at home by Manchester United on the weekend. Their last 2 away games were defeats to Everton and a draw to Aston Villa. Leeds have only won 2 of their 12 away matches this season, drawing 4 and losing 6.

A look at the goal markets when they travel shows that their games average 3.6 goals each and their last 5 away matches have all reached the 3 goal mark.

Liverpool 2/11

Draw 7/1

Leeds United 14/1

Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 8/10

This is a much shorter price than you normally get for over 3.5 goals, but Liverpool are scoring freely and Leeds are playing in some very high scoring encounters of late

I think most of the goals are going to come for Liverpool, but Leeds may contribute as well and in fact I am going to consider getting involved in Both Teams to Score at the current price of 17/20.

THURSDAY

ARSENAL v WOLVES

This game pits 6th placed Arsenal against 7th placed Wolves who trail them just 2 points although they have played a game more.

Both of these sides are in good form and Arsenal have won their last 2 at home to Brentford and away against Wolves back in early February. They have won 8, drawn 2 and lost 2 of their 12 home matches and looking at Arsenal’s goal record at the Emirates Stadium and Arsenal home games have averaged 2.4 goals each with a 50% split of over and under 2.5 goals.

Wolves are coming off an impressive 2-1 home win over Leicester and prior to that they beat Tottenham 2-0 on the road and they have only lost 1 of their last 8 and have won 6 of those games. Wolves have won their last 4 away matches and overall have won 7 and drawn 2 of their 12 games on the road, but those away games have been the lowest scoring in the Division by some distance with just a total of 21 goals in 12 matches and only 2 of those 12 games would have delivered you a profit had you been backing over 2.5 goals.

Arsenal 5/8

Draw 26/10

Wolves 9/2

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Wolves (+0.5) goals at 5/4

While arsenal start worthy favourites for this match I still haven't been that impressed with them and I am a bit concerned about their consistency.

Wolves have some really big scalps to their name and I think they can add another one here, but rather than take the 9/2 that they win the game I will take a much shorter price, but have the draw running for me as well.
