BettingDiaryEnglish Premier League gets back into full swing this week and we take a look at 3 of the matches taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday and suggest a bet in each.

We start with a look at the Outright Markets where Manchester City are now 1/9 to defend their title and that price is unlikely to stimulate betting interests. There are plenty of other markets including the Winner without the Big 6 where West Ham is currently trading at 7/10. You can also get betting on the Premier League Top Goal Scorer where Salah is currently a short priced 3/10 favourite.

TUESDAY

BURNLEY v MANCHESTER UNITED

Burnley are currently bottom of the table having drawn 0-0 with Watford at home on the weekend. It was their second successive goalless draw having had the same score away at Arsenal back in January.

Burnley have only won 1 of their 19 games this season, but they have drawn 10 of them and 5 of their 8 home matches this season have ended in draws. Burnley away games have averaged just 2 goals each this season.

Manchester United were dumped out of the FA Cup on Friday night and they can now focus on their League campaign where they currently sit in 4th place, 9 points behind 3rd placed Chelsea, but with two games in hand.

They have won their last two League games most recently beating West Ham 1-0 at home and their last away game was a 3-1 win over Brentford. United have won 5 and drawn 4 of the 11 away matches this season and looking closer at the goal stats their away games have averaged 3 goals each with 6 of the 11 matches delivering profits if you had backed over 2.5 goals.

Burnley 9/2

Draw 3/1

Manchester United 4/7

Suggested Bet: Correct Score Burnley 0, Manchester United 1 at 5/1

This was the score the last time Burnley hosted Manchester United and I can see a scrappy affair with Manchester United just edging out a desperate Burnley side.

WEDNESDAY

TOTTENHAM v SOUTHAMPTON

Tottenham currently sit 7th on the table, 5 positions and 11 points ahead of Southampton although they have played 2 games less than the Saints.

Tottenham won the FA Cup match against Brighton 3/1 at home on the weekend but their last League action was a 2-0 defeat at Chelsea. Their home form has been solid this season with 7 wins and 1 draw in 10 starts and they have won 4 of their last 5 home matches. 70% of Tottenham home games would have seen over 2.5 goal backers collect profits.

Southampton required extra time to beat Coventry in their FA Cup match this past weekend and their recent League form hasn’t been great with just 1 win in their last 4 matches. Last time out though they did get a credible point 1-1 at home to Manchester City and both teams have managed to find the back of the net in Southampton’s last 6 League games. Southampton have only won 2 of 11 matches on the road this season, but their away games have been high scoring averaging 3.3 goals each with 9 of the 11 games reaching the 3 goal mark.

Tottenham 8/13

Draw 3/1

Southampton 4/1

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 8/10

This looks decent value given Southampton’s recent run of matches with both teams finding the net and the head-to-head stats also suggests that we will get goals at both ends.

ASTON VILLA v LEEDS

Aston Villa are currently 11th on the table on 26 points with Leeds down in 15th, 4 points behind them.

Villa’s last action was in the League back in January when they beat Everton 1-0 on the road and that broke a run of 3 games without a victory. They have won 4 and drawn 2 of 10 home matches this season and Aston Villa home games have averaged 3.3 goals each with the last 4 matches delivering profits for over 2.5 goal backers.

Leeds lost 1-0 to Newcastle last time out and that halted a run where they had 2 successive victories away to West Ham and at home to Burnley. Leeds have won 2 and drawn 3 of their 10 away matches this season and those games have averaged 3.4 goals each with a 60% return for overs backers.

Aston Villa 8/10

Draw 11/4

Leeds 3/1

Suggested Bet: Aston Villa win at 8/10

I get the feeling that Villa have turned the corner in recent weeks and I think they can beat a Leeds side that should offer plenty from an entertainment point of view and if over 2.5 goals was bigger than the current 7/10 I would probably get involved.
