The 2024 F1 season comes to an end this weekend as the teams head to Abu Dhabi for the last race. With the Drivers’ Championship already being decided, all eyes turn to the Constructors Championship as McLaren try to hold on to their lead while Ferrari attempt a late lunge for the line.
We look at this week's racing from a betting angle and share a couple of potential bets.
PREVIOUS RACE (Qatar GP 2024)
Max Verstappen returned to his usual form last weekend leading the race from the first lap and maintaining it all the way until the end. Charles Leclerc came in second place getting Ferrari some much needed points while Oscar Piastri helped his team out by finishing third. Lando Norris was in the mix for a podium finish until he was given a 10 second stop-and-go penalty towards the end of the race which cost him dearly.
CONSTRUCTORS CHAMPIONSHIP
McLaren managed to stretch their lead to 30 points after the Sprint race but then Ferrari managed to cut the deficit to 21 points after Sunday's Grand Prix. McLaren will need 24 points to guarantee them the constructors title this weekend. If worst comes to worst they will have to make sure that Ferrari do not outscore them by 22 points or more. McLaren are trading at 1.11 while Ferrari are trading at 6.50 in what is now a 2 horse race.

VERDICT
Verstappen proved last weekend why he won the Drivers’ Championship this year in a brilliant display of racing and calmness as he led from start to finish. McLaren and Ferrari know that their race is not with Red Bull. This plays into Verstappen’s hands as McLaren and Ferrari will not want to risk losing points because of a fight with Verstappen. He has won the last four races in Abu Dhabi and looks set to win his fifth in a row. You can back him the money back for 2nd insurance, details below.
Verstappen to win at 3.30.

Oscar Piastri had another solid race last weekend finishing third for his eighth podium of the season. Piastri knows that McLaren need every point possible this weekend and will be pushing as hard as he can to get his car up near the front. With Lando Norris out of the Drivers’ Championship race, if Piastri manages to get ahead of Norris it is unlikely that McLaren will swap the drivers.
Oscar Piastri podium finish at 3.25.
