There are 4 PSL matches taking place on Saturday and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.
AMAZULU v BAROKA – Click here to bet
AmaZulu are currently sitting 2nd from bottom of the table and knowing they have a battle on their hands to at the very least avoid the relegation playoff. They gained a much needed 3 points beating Kaizer Chiefs in their last game before the break and they will be looking to improve on their home form where they have only been able to win 3 out of 11 matches.
Baroka sit just two positions above them on the table, but also on 23 points and they were in action on the weekend losing 3-0 to Bloem Celtic in the Nedbank Cup Semi-Finals.
AmaZulu won the reverse fixture 1-0 earlier this season and the home team won 1-0 in both matches last season
Betting:
AmaZulu 12/10
Draw 9/4
Baroka 23/10
Suggested Bet: The draw at 9/4
I feel that both of these sides will be more interested in not losing than going out and winning the game and we should have a tight low scoring.
STELLENBOSCH v GOLDEN ARROWS – Click here to bet
Stellenbosch are 11th on the table, but were in poor form before the break losing their last 2 matches at home to Sundowns and away at Maritzburg. They haven't been very strong at home this season winning just 4 of 11 games.
Golden Arrows are 7th on the table and undefeated in their last 4 League games. Their away record has been poor though they have only won 2 matches from 11 played.
Betting:
Stellenbosch 31/20
Draw 43/20
Golden Arrows 37/20
Suggested Bet: The draw at 43/20
These sides have drawn the last 3 competitive matches they have played against each other and I think that is where the value lies.
POLOKWANE CITY v KAIZER CHIEFS – Click here to bet
These sides sit at opposite side of the log with Polokwane involved in the relegation battle currently 14th on the table. They did manage to string 2 successive victories together before losing away to Maritzburg United just before the break.
Kaizer Chiefs are top of the table after a 1-1 draw with Wits in midweek. Looking at the goal scoring stats Chiefs games have averaged 2.6 goals each with Polokwane matches 2.2 goals. Under 2.5 goals backers would have collected in 14 of the 23 Chiefs matches and in 17 of the 24 Polokwane matches.
Polokwane have a good recent record against Chiefs winning 2 and drawing 1 of their last 3 meetings.
Betting:
Polokwane City 25/4
Draw 16/5
Kaizer Chiefs 9/20
Suggested Bet: Correct score, Polokwane 0 Chiefs 1 at 38/10
These sides have a history of low scoring fixtures, but I think that Chiefs will do enough to edge this and keep their lead at the top of the table.
ORLANDO PIRATES v BIDVEST WITS – Click here to bet
Pirates are 3rd on the table and played to a goalless draw against Mamelodi Sundowns in the return to action in midweek. They have only lost 1 of their last 10 PSL matches.
They are playing a Wits side who are sitting 5th on the table, 2 points behind Pirates, but with 2 games in hand. Wits drew 1-1 against Kaizer Chiefs in midweek and they were in action last weekend, beaten 3-2 in the Nedbank Cup by Mamelodi Sundowns.
Wits won the reverse fixture 4-3, last year it was the away side which won 1-0 on each occasion.
Betting:
Orlando Pirates 12/10
Draw 23/10
Wits 47/20
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 11/10
I doubt we will get anything like the 7 goals in their last fixture, but both teams should come out with attacking intent.
