BettingDiaryIn Thursday’s diary we look ahead to AFCON 2019 and this week’s Travelers Championship whilst the Cricket World Cup, Copa America, Womens World Cup football and Royal Ascot are also in focus.

Football: AFCON 2019

We start with football and a look ahead to AFCON 2019 which gets underway on Friday when host nation Egypt take on Zimbabwe in Cairo. As far as the betting to win the tournament is concerned all the traditional powerhouses of African football are prominent and whilst Egypt will be a popular choice with Mo Salah leading the line, Senegal could give us a run for our money. It’s always worth looking for an outsider capable of going deep and this year Mali (16/1) and Guinea (20/1) look like upset material.

Africa Cup of Nations - Winner

Egypt 4/1

Senegal 11/2

Ghana 13/2

Nigeria 8/1

Ivory Coast 9/1

Morocco 10/1

13/1 and better the rest.

As far as Bafana Bafana are concerned the group stage draw could have been kinder. South Africa, who are 28/1 to win the tournament, will contest Group D with Ivory Coast, Morocco and Namibia for company. We have outright betting to win the groups available and in this quartet Ivory Coast are favourites at 23/10, Morocco are 14/10 and Bafana can be backed at around 4/1 with Namibia the rank outsiders at 41/1.

COPA America and Womens World Cup

Copa America, streamed live on World Sports Betting TV, continues and in the early hours of Friday morning Uruguay are a short price to follow up on a 4-0 win over Ecuador when they take on Japan who crashed 4-0 to Chile in their first outing.

In the Womens World Cup the Netherlands meet Canada and both sides have a 100% record so this will decide who tops Group E.

In Group F it’s a similar story with the top 2 teams, USA and Sweden already through with 2 wins from 2 and the outcome of their meeting will determine who tops that quartet.

Cricket World Cup

Thursday’s action in the Cricket World Cup comes from Trent Bridge, Nottingham where Australia clash with Bangladesh.

Australia are travelling well with 4 wins and 1 defeat and whilst Bangladesh have a record of 2 wins, 2 defeats and 1 no result, there was plenty to like about the way they pulled off a big run chase against West Indies earlier this week.

We have a full match betting preview on this link and we fancy Mustafizur Rahman to be top Bangladesh Bowler whilst in the Player Performance market we go with Glenn Maxwell to beat his quote. Bet on Australia v Bangladesh.

All betting markets for the Cricket World Cup, outright and individual matches, are available here and it’s interesting to note a change in favourite in the betting to win the tournament with India now at 19/10 ahead of England who can be backed at 2/1

Horse Racing

Local horse racing comes from the Vaal where the first of 9 races jumps at 12:15.

Day 3 of Royal Ascot features the Gold Cup where Stradivarius is a warm order, currently trading at 13/10. Fleeting is 17/10 favourite for the Ribblesdale Stakes with the appropriately named Queen Power next best at 5/2.

Golf:

We looked at the betting for this week’s BMW International Open in Wednesday’s bulletin whilst this week’s event in the US is the Travelers Championship held at TPC River Highlands, Connecticut. Last week’s US Open runner up Brooks Koepka is favourite at 9/1 ahead of Patrick Cantlay (10/1), whilst Jordan Spieth, Paul Casey, Justin Thomas and Francesco Molinari are also prominent in the betting.

After a very solid T7 at Pebble Beach last week Louis Oosthuizen is a 33/1 chance but whilst doing the rounds of the golf tipping websites the name Paul Casey is commonplace.

Players by group, 72 hole match betting, 1st round leader and top player by region markets are also on offer. Click here to bet on the Travelers Championship.

Super Rugby

We will look at each of the Super Rugby quarter finals later in the week. For now, a reminder that outright winner betting and match result and handicap markets for the first round of play offs are available and bear in mind our special promotion below.
