BettingDiaryWe take a look at the 2 Super Rugby Au matches taking place this weekend and suggest a bet in each of them.

Let’s kick off with a look at the Outright Betting where the tournament is now being priced as a 2 horse race with the Reds 4/7 favourites ahead of the Brumbies 15/10. The Rebels will be looking to secure their play-off spot are 22/1 and the Western Force, the big outsiders of the quartet, at 33/1.

WESTERN FORCE v REDS

The Force required late drama to beat the Waratahs 31/30 in Perth last week and it was their second successive victory having edged the Rebels by a point in Melbourne the week before.

In other home action this season they lost to the Rebels by 3 and the Brumbies by 16 points back in round 1.

The Reds have a 100% record and are coming off a bye and they are also assured of a bye next week as they will top the table with the play-off taking place to see who meets them in the final. Their last action was a 2 point win over the Brumbies at home and on the road they have beaten the Rebels by 25, the Waratahs by 32 and the Brumbies by 2.

The Force pushed the Reds when they met in Brisbane earlier this season eventually losing 26-19.

Western Force 3/1

Draw 33/1

Reds 3/10

Handicap: Western Force (+8.5) at 9/10, Reds (-8.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, the Force (+8.5) at 9/10

I think the Reds will have one eye on the final and given that the Force still have a mathematical chance of making the play-off they should give everything here and I think they could beat the handicap.

WARATAHS v REBELS

The Waratahs came so close to claiming their first victory last week, but an inexcusable mistake at a lineout saw them lose the ball and eventually concede 3 points that lost the match 31-30 to the Force away. They have lost all of their matches this season although their last home game was one of their better showings, a 2 point loss to the Brumbies.

The rebels will be looking to book their play-off spot so will definitely be up for this one. They went down 26-20 to the Brumbies in Melbourne last week and on the road they have beaten the Force by 3 and lost to the Brumbies by 3 and the Reds by 2 points.

These sides met earlier this season and it was the Rebels who came out on top 33-14 in Melbourne.

Waratahs 3/1

Draw 33/1

Rebels 3/10

Handicap: Waratahs (+8.5) at 9/10, Rebels (-8.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Waratahs (+8.5) at 9/10

I haven't been impressed with this Rebel team of late and the Waratahs look like a work in progress and they are showing some improvement. I think the home team can push the Rebels here and beat the handicap.
