Stage 12 of the Vuelta a España takes the riders on a 150.6 kilometre route from Ólvega to Zaragoza and it looks a virtual certainty that we will get a bunch sprint.

STAGE 11 WRAP
Jesus Herrada a 66/1 shot bided his time up the final climb before riding clear to win from the breakaway ahead of Romain Gregoire and Andreas Kron. The big disappointment from the break was Geraint Thomas whose teammate Ganna (we had backed at 100/1) did a lot of work for him only for him not to have the legs and to finish 5th. What a pity Ganna wasn’t given his chance at stage victory.
JERSEY UPDATE
The expected General Classification battle up the final climb never took place and Sepp Kuss retains his 26 second lead over Marc Soler with Remco Evenepoel 1 minute 9 seconds behind.
There is very little change to the betting with Primoz Roglic still the 11/2 favourite ahead of Evenepoel and Kuss at 33/10 and Jonas Vingegaard is priced at 15/4.

Vingegaard remains the 6/1 favourite to win the King of the Mountains classification, but hasn’t really got going yet and today the Green Jersey race resumes and Kaden Groves remains a big favourite. While Jumbo-Visma are 5/6 to win the Team Classification.

THE ROUTE
Starting at 984 metres above sea level the race ends at 210 metres above sea level so overall the riders are descending on the stage. There are a couple of unclassified climbs, but nothing that should trouble the sprinters teams and I suspect we will get a relatively unthreatening break go clear early with the teams who fancy a bunch sprint keeping it very much in check.

PREDICTION
It is these stages where I enjoy taking advantage of the Worlds Sports Betting money back for 2nd Promo and I will be once again be going for the current Green Jersey, Kaden Groves who has been good to me in this Tour. He is a short-priced favourite at 5/6, but he has looked strong even on stages without sprint finishes and he has an excellent team to guide him through to the final surge to the line. Unless he has bad luck in running he should go very close and I would be surprised if he finishes outside of the top 2.
Suggested Bet: Kaden Groves win at 5/6
