New Zealand impressed with a 60 run victory over Pakistan in Karachi in the opening match of the tournament. They were invited to bat first and opener Will Young made 107 whilst Tom Latham bettered that, unbeaten on 118. Glenn Phillips hit 61 in no time and New Zealand posted 320/5.
New Zealand's bowlers were quickly on top with Pakistan reduced to 22/2 in the first 10 overs. They remained in control and William O'Rourke returned figures of 3/47 in his 9 overs, Santner finished with 3/66 and Matt Henry 2/25 in his 7.25 overs. Michael Bracewell with 1/38 also warrants a mention as Pakistan were bowled out for 260 in 47.2 overs.

This is the first match to be staged at Rawalpindi and you can understand why NZ are such short price favourites even though there were some positives for Bangladesh in their opening defeat.
Rishad Hossian bowled really well against India, it remains to be seen oif conditions will suit on Monday but he is my idea of the top bowler for the underdogs.
