Hungary 23/10 Draw 22/10 Switzerland 5/4
Hungary came through their group unbeaten with 5 wins and 3 draws to finish well clear of Serbia with Montenegro third, Lithuania fourth and Bulgaria were the also rans. Recent warm ups include a 2-0 defeat to Ireland and a 3-0 win over Israel
In Euro 2020 Hungary had a nightmare draw, matched with Portugal, France and Germany, they finished bottom of the quartet but after losing to France they drew their next 2 matches and performed with great credit.
Switzerland drew 5 of their 10 matches in qualifying but 4 wins and just the 1 defeat saw them finish as runners up to Romania with Israel, Belarus, Kosovo and Andorra behind. In their most recent warm ups Switzerland beat Estonia 4-0 and drew 1-1 with Austria.
In Euro 2020 the Swiss drew with Wales, lost to Italy and claimed a best third place finisher position with a win over Turkey. They turned France over with a penalty shoot out win in the Ro16 and then took Spain all the way to spot kicks but this was a shoot out they lost.
The Verdict:
The Swiss have a nice blend of youth and experience and are usually hard to remove but you could argue Hungary displayed the better form in qualifying. Gut feel here is the both teams will find the net.
Bets: Both teams to score? (yes) at 19/20 with Sportingbet
Spain 9/10 Draw 24/10 Croatia 32/10
Spain won 7 and lost 1 of their qualifying matches to top the group 4 points clear of Scotland with Norway, Georgia and Cyprus filling the minor places. In a couple of recent warm ups Spain thrashed Andorra 5-0 and Northern Ireland 5-1.
In Euro 2020 Spain drew group matches with Sweden and Poland before demolishing Slovakia to finish as runners up (to Sweden). In the Ro16 they came through an epic battle with today's opponents Croatia, winning 5-3 after extra time (90 mins 3-3). After edging past the Swiss on pens in the quarters a semi final match up with Italy also finished 1-1 but this time Spain lost the shoot out.
Spain are around 7/1 to win the tournament and 8/10 to top this group
Croatia finished as runners up to Turkey in their group. They won 5, drew 1 and lost 2 of their matches in a group where Wales, Armenia and Latvia were also in action. Their most recent warm ups delivered a 3-0 win over North Macedonia and a 2-1 win over Portugal.
In Euro 2020 Croatia lost to England, drew with the Czech's and then beat Scotland to go through as runners up and they gave Spain a huge battle before losing that R016 shoot out.
Croatia are around 33/1 to win the tournament and 9/2 to top this group
The Verdict:
This is a really tough group and nobody will want to be playing catch up and given Croatia are a very handy side I believe the value lies with the draw.
Bets: Match result draw at 24/10 with Sportingbet
Italy 4/10 Draw 36/10 Albania 7/1
Euro 2020 champions Italy made hard work of automatic qualification. They were in a competitive group and 4 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats was just enough to finish as runners up to England, just ahead of Ukraine with North Macedonia fourth and Malta were the also rans. Recent warm ups include a 0-0 draw with Turkey and 1-0 win over Bosnia.
In Euro 2020 Italy were foot perfect in the group stage with wins over Turkey, Switzerland and Wales, keeping clean sheets in all of those matches. They needed extra time to see off Austria (2-1) in the R016 before a 2-1 win over Belgium in the quarters and the penalty shoot win over Spain in the semi's. They took on England at Wembley in the final and despite falling behind early they fought back to level things up and with no further scoring they held their nerve in the penalty shoot out.
Italy are around 16/1 to win the tournament and 2/1 to top this group
Albania caught the eye in topping their group with a record of 4 wins, 3 draws and just the 1 defeat. They edged out Czech Republic for top spot with Poland 4 points back in third, Moldova fourth and the Faroe Islands fifth.
Recent friendly matches saw Albania beat Lichtenstein (3-0) and Azerbaijan (3-1).
Albania are around 450/1 to win the tournament and 25/1 to top this group
The Verdict:
I have seen nothing of Albania but their record in qualifying suggests they probably shouldn't be underestimated. Meanwhile Italy don't seem to be in anything like the form they were in prior to the previous Euro's, they still ought to have enough and I'm going side with over 2.5 goals in total.
Bets: Total goals over 2.5 at even money with Sportingbet
