The action on the DP World Tour continues this weekend, as the Mauritius Open gets underway on Wednesday, December 14th. The final round of action will take place on Sunday, December 18th, with all rounds being staged at the beautiful Mont Choisy Le Golf in Grand-Baie. But, which player will come out on top in the golf event this weekend?

Latest Odds

The BetXchange odds for the Mauritius Open have been open since the start of the week. There is a competitive feel to the DP World Tour event this week, but the top two are by far the shortest in price to take home the victory. Thomas Detry is the current favourite to win the event, as he is priced up at 11/2 with the leading bookmaker.

Meanwhile, Dean Burmester is a 6/1 chance to claim victory. Every other player in the betting is over 10/1, including Antoine Rozner, who is available at 14/1. The next three players in the betting are Oliver Bekker, Laurie Canter, and Jayden Schaper, who are priced up at 16/1, 18/1 and 22/1, respectively.

Event Details

The Mauritius Open makes its return to the DP World Tour calendar this weekend after a two-year break. It was last competed in 2019, as Rasmus Hojgaard finished as the winner after a playoff against Antoine Rozner and Renato Paratore. This event is co-sanctioned by the Sunshine Tour, and was previously part of the Asian Tour.

This event will be played over a total length of 6,450 metres, and will take place on a par 72 course. It was first established in 2015, but this will be the first time that the event has been staged at Mont Choisy. The previous event was staged at Heritage, while Anahita also hosted the event in 2016 and 2018.

Leading Contenders

Thomas Detry is a very firm favourite at the top of the betting, as he looks to land a first DP World Tour victory this weekend. The player has been in strong form on the PGA Tour already this season, finishing in the top ten on two previous occasions.

Antoine Rozner looks a standout contender for the event this weekend, as the French player finished a close second at the Mauritius Open two years ago. Since then, he has won two events on the DP World Tour, with the latest of those coming in the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters last year.

Dean Burmester is another player that is difficult to overlook coming into the event this weekend. The South African player has won nine previous events across the PGA Tour, European Tour and Sunshine Tour. His latest win was recorded in November last year, as he came out on top in the South African PGA Championship by two shots.

Mauritius Open Prediction

Rozner would be one our big plays for the event this weekend, as he impressed when finishing as the runner-up two years ago. His experience at the event could be crucial. At a bigger price, I also like the chances of Tom McKibbin, who boasted an excellent amateur record before finishing 13th at the Alfred Dunhill Championship last weekend.

Pick: Antoine Rozner to win at 14/1 with BetXchange.

Pick: Tom McKibbin to finish top five at 8/1 with BetXchange.
