RACE 1
BELLA ATTRICE‘S last four starts have been decent. She showed good speed over this C&D last time, but did not go on with the effort. The daughter of Willow Magic is the form horse in the race and she gets the services of capable work rider Sadick Watson. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back
GRACE UPON GRACE ran a positive race in her first run for the Duncan McKenzie stable. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. If jumping on terms, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
HAPPY VIBES finished 0.25 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.
RACE 2
TRUMP MY QUEEN has finished third in both her efforts since relocating to the Eastern Cape. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. She takes a slight drop-in class and S’manga Khumalo may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
WILDEST DREAMS finished 0.85 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
KEEP THE FORT was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over this C&D. The daughter of Elusive Fort was given a two- pound penalty for that victory. She does take on stronger, but is in a good space and should be up to the task at hand.
RACE 3
FIRE GLOW ran on well when fourth in her last start over 1400m on this course. The daughter of Fire Away tries the 2000m and it is encouraging that Muzi Yeni keeps faith in the ride. If seeing out the extra distance on offer, she can shed her maiden tag.
KITTY MO is much better than her last start over 1750m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Royal Mo tries the 2000m and if settled into her new surroundings, she should give a good account of herself.
JOSI MO was running on when third over 1600m on the polytrack last time. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she should not have any issues with the 2000m. She is in a good space and can earn another cheque.
RACE 4
HAWK CIRCLE is having his first run for the Kelly Mitchley stable. He was slow into stride over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time, but stayed on at the finish. The son of Silvano will love the long run-in and with Muzi Yeni in the saddle, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
MOHANDAS ran a good race when second over 1300m on the polytrack last time. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
EXCALIBUR ran a fair race over this distance on the polytrack last time. The son of William Longsword has plenty of scope and can finish in the money.
RACE 5
PEACE IN OUR WORLD ran a fair race in the Non-Black Type Friendly City Stakes last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The son of Ideal World takes a drop-in class. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and he can return to winning ways from pole position.
BRENDEN JAMES won a game race in his last start over 1400m on this course. He won his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Coup De Grace meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can follow up.
SEQUOIA ran a good race when third in his local debut. He finished 2 lengths behind the second selection that day and is 2kgs better off at the weights. There should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.
Race 6
WOODLAND RIDGE is better than his last start in a Novice Plate. His form prior to that outing was consistent. He finished 1.85 lengths behind Sirnihaallongsword, three runs ago. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. Muzi Yeni is booked to ride and he should be competitive.
SIRNIHAALLONGSWORD finished 1.5 lengths behind GUNSMOKE last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He always gives of his best and must be included in all bets.
GUNSMOKE is a winner of his last two starts on this course. He received a four-pound penalty for his latest victory. The son of Noble Tune jumps from a good draw of three and can notch up the hat-trick.
RACE 7
FOR ALL WE KNOW ran a good race when second over this distance on the polytrack, despite the jockey reporting something to be amiss. It must be noted that Rose Of Bayeux has come out and won again since. She has won once and finished third three times from five starts on this course. She does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
. SYMBOL OF LOVE has good consistent form lines to her credit. She takes a drop-in class and is one of the leading contenders.
ECLAIR showed good improvement in her last start over 1300m on the polytrack. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. She won her only attempt over this C&D and cannot be ignored.
RACE 8
GREAT MELODY has consistent form lines to his credit. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung in the closing stages. It must be noted that Narcos has come out and won again since. He has won three times and finished third once from five starts over this C&D. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
NOTORIX stayed on when fourth over this C&D last time. He does take on stronger, but carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and should be involved at the finish.
VISION OF WONDER ran a good race when third in the Listed Champion Juvenile Cup last time. He returns from an 11-week break, during which time he was gelded. If not in need of the run, he should go close to winning
