ROYAL KINGDOM produced a decent debut effort over 1000m on this course, six weeks ago. He showed good speed, but found one too good in the form of Direct Hit who has come out and won a Grade 3 since. The son of William Longsword would have gained from the experience and if seeing out 1200m, he can remain unbeaten.

KING PRAWN ran a creditable race on debut over 1000m on this course. He lost a length leaving the start, but stayed on to finish third. The son of Master Of My Fate would have come on from the run and should love the extra 200m on offer. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

JET SET RUN finished 1.6 lengths behind the second selection on debut. She was reported to be coughing that day. The daughter of Futura would have come on from the run and should make the natural progression.

RACE 2

POETIC PRINCESS hails from the visiting Candice Bass-Robinson stable. She raced from just off the pace against the males last time and stayed on to finish third. The daughter of What A Winter meets the right field and if all went well with her travels, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

DANCING IN WINTER is better than her last start over 1000m on this course. She stumbled leaving the start and never got into the race. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If finding the form of her penultimate run, she should pose a threat.

SWEET CAKE was in need of her last start over 1000m on this course. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. On best form shown, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 3

FLIGHT ENGINEER is having his first run for Trainer Kelly Mitchley. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in his last outing has come out and won since. The son of Lancaster Bomber is the stable elect with Muzi Yeni in the saddle and if settled into his new surroundings, he can win a race of this nature.

GLOBAL CHIEF finished 1.25 lengths behind AND ACTION last time. He is 6kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

BOMPAS finished 0.25 lengths behind AND ACTION last time. He is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around.

RACE 4

LOTUS ISLAND has won her last two starts with ease. She lost a length leaving the start last time, but quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. She received an eight-pound penalty for that victory. She is in a good space and from pole position, she should bring up the hat-trick.

LADY ZULTANITE was touched off in her last start over 1900m on the polytrack. It must be noted that Flight Display has come out and won again since. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should pose a massive threat.

SWEET NOTHINGS followed up her maiden victory with a creditable third-place finish over this C&D. She finished 4.6 lengths behind the top choice that day. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

 

 

RACE 5

ENCHANTING LADY stayed on when third over 1000m on the Vaal Classic course last time. The daughter of William Longsword is having her first run for the Sharon Kotzen stable. Luyolo Mxothwa steps into the saddle and if settled into her new surroundings, she can win a race of this nature.

JAMBO SANA stayed on when fifth over this distance on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Four of her five career victories have come over this distance. On best form shown, she should be involved at the finish.

VALERIAS DREAM showed good signs of a form return when fifth over 1400m on this course last time. She set the pace and stayed on at the finish. Stallone Naidoo is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome the wide draw and she may be hard to peg back.

Race 6

SPLICETHEMAINBRACE is a winner of her last two starts, the latest of which was over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Master Of My Fate steps back up to 1600m and if keeping on a straight line, she can bring up the hat-trick.

CAN’T SAY NO finished 1.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

FROM A DISTANCE stayed on when third over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. She should enjoy the rise to 1600m and if all went well with her travels, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 7

DYNALLEY should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had no luck in the straight. The son of Flower Alley is having his third run in the Eastern Cape and will be at peak fitness. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his wide draw and with luck in running, he can cause the upset.

EL ROMIACHI finished 0.5 lengths behind PEDRO last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

PEDRO stayed on strongly when second over 1600m last time. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from eight starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck in running, he should be competitive.

RACE 8

FLASH LIGHTNING is better than his last start over this C&D as he had to overcome the widest draw. He won a good race in his penultimate start over 1600m under Denis Schwarz. The son of Visionaire has cracked a good draw of two and he should not be too far off the leaders turning for home. He can notch up his third-career victory.

LEGAL THRILLER has consistent form lines to his name. Should the top selection fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

IGUGULETHU is better than his last start over 1200m on the polytrack as he was reported to be coughing severely. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should be involved at the finish
