RACE 1

KING OF QUEEN has finished second in his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1400m on this course. His penultimate run when second over this distance on the turf track was eye-catching. He jumps from a good draw of three and can shed his maiden tag.

JUSTCANTGETENOUGH finished 0.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the wire.

HAT HOT HAT showed good improvement in his last start over 1400m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack. He is having his first run for the Cliffie Miller stable. If settled into his new surroundings, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 2

PRINCESS VIRGINIE is having her first run for the Cliffie Miller stable. She has been disappointing since her promising debut effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. She is back against her own sex today and if suited to the polytrack, she can show good improvement.

CICADIDAE is having her first run for the Alan Greeff stable. The 13-week break may have done her the world of good. She is the stable elect with Richard Fourie in the saddle and with luck from her wide draw, she should have improvement to come.

SEE YOU IN A BIT stayed on when third in her local debut over 1000m on the turf. The daughter Of Master Of My Fate would have come on from the run and will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. She will be mowing down the frontrunners.

RACE 3

RUN FOR ME should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had no luck in running. He finished 0.1 lengths behind WILLIAM’S LEGACY, three runs ago. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is having his first run on this surface and with luck in running, he should go close.

WILLIAM’S LEGACY was his own worst enemy over 1400m last time as he over raced in the early stages, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

REGAZZO GRANDE’S last three starts have been fair. He has been gelded which may have done the trick. The son of Flying The Flag will be doing his best work at the finish.

RACE 4

NYALI BEACH showed very good improvement in her local debut over 1000m on the turf. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have come on from the run and should love the rise to 1600m. She jumps from a handy draw of four and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

GOLD FOR AFRICA stayed on when fourth in her last start over this C&D. She is back against her own sex and with luck in running, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

FOR ALL WE KNOW has consistent form lines to her credit. It must be noted that United Express has come out and won again since. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and the combination merit healthy respect.

Race 5

POMPEI WARNING stayed on when sixth over 1000m on this course last time. He won a good race in his penultimate start over this distance on the turf, under jockey Craig Zackey. The son of Erupt takes a slight drop in class and from pole position, can notch up his third-career victory.

GREY SMOKE ran on powerfully when winning his last start over this C&D. He received a two-pound penalty for that victory. He jumps from a good draw of two and can follow up.

LIFE ON MARS produced good form lines before given an 11-week break. Three of his five career victories have come over this C&D. Apprentice Trent Mayhew takes the 4kgs off his back and if not in need of the run, he may be hard to catch at the finish.

Race 6

NOTORIX stayed on when fourth in his last start over 1000m on this course. He has won twice and finished second once from nine starts over this C&D. Denis Schwarz is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

GREAT MELODY finished 0.65 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN is better than his last start as he raced wide around the turn and understandably faded badly in the straight. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and on previous form, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 7

RIVER QUERARESS is having her first run for the Alan Greeff stable. She raced wide around the turn over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course last time and understandably lacked a finish in the straight. She has won twice from three starts over this distance. The daughter of Querari is the stable elect with Richard Fourie in the saddle. If suited to this surface, she can win a race of this nature.

GOLDEN PACIFIC finished 1.25 lengths behind ESTHER last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won four times, finished second three times and third once from as many starts on this course. The daughter of Gold Standard merits healthy respect.

ESTHER has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She shows good speed in her races and despite her big mass of 61.5kgs, she may be hard to peg back.

RACE 8

BENNELONG POINT should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was struck by a crop at the 150m mark. He finished 2 lengths behind GEORGIE GEORGE in his penultimate run. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Pathfork should be ideally suited to 1300m and can return to winning ways.

JOYOUS JUBILEE finished 1.75 lengths behind GEORGIE GEORGE in the race referred to above. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

GEORGIE GEORGE ran on strongly when winning his last start over 1200m on the turf. He would have come on from the run and if jumping on terms, he can follow up
