Race 1
BELA VISTA produced a promising debut effort over 1100m on this course. She understandably raced green but the manner in which she finished off her race was eye-catching. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat.
WORLDCRAFT ran a fair race on debut over this C&D, against winners. She showed good pace but lacked a finish in the closing stages. The daughter of One World would have come on from the run and against Maiden Company, she should make the expected natural progression.
SHIPINDANI finished 2.45 lengths behind the second choice on debut. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
Race 2
THE US OF A was touched off in his last start over 1200m on this course. He raced from just off the pace, moved up well but was caught late by Surge Of Power. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He will be ideally suited to 1100m and can go one better.
EINSTEIN stayed on when third over 1200m last time. The son of What A Winter is a progressive type and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
APPROACH SHOT has fair recent form lines to his name. He finished 1.75 lengths behind the top choice, four runs ago. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
Race 3
GLEE CLUB should have finished closer to the winner last time as the saddle was reported to have slipped in running. She was running on when second in her penultimate start over 1400m on this course. Her only victory came under Richard Fourie and in this field, she may be the one to side with.
ICE RAIN is a winner of her last two starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in her last outing has come out and won since. She is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.
ENCHANTING CHOICE finished 6.3 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 4
MR BELVEDERE showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D. He raced from a handy position, moved up well but was caught in the shadow of the post by Prince Of Tibet. This is the right field for him to shed his maiden tag.
MONKEY PUZZLE finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. The son of Canford Cliffs will be doing his best work at the finish.
CLIFF SWALLOW was a tad disappointing when 2.8 lengths behind the top selection last time. The son of Canford Cliffs may be a better horse when switched off behind horses. If ridden with restraint, he will not be a shock winner.
Race 5
SOLOMONS SEAL finished 0.3 lengths behind TYRION LANNISTER last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. He is the stable elect with Sean Veale up and if keeping on a straight line, he can go one better.
CHEEKY LADDIE showed good improvement in his last start over this C&D. He raced from a handy position and tried hard all the way to the line. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should pose a massive threat.
TYRION LANNISTER is better than his last start over this C&D. He was a winner of his previous two outings. The son of Royal Mo jumps from a good draw of three and cannot be ignored.
Race 6
TOTHEMOONANDBACK stayed on when second over 1600m last time but found one too good in the form of Master Of Paris. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. From pole position, he should be the one to beat.
AFRICAN TORRENT ran a fair race over 2200m on this course last time. Two of his three career victories have come over this distance. He has dropped to a competitive rating and is one of the leading contenders.
ETERNAL OPTIMIST has fair recent form lines to his name. He takes on slightly weaker opposition today and gets a change of headgear. Craig Zackey is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
Race 7
LOVE IS A ROSE was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 2200m, against male company. She received a two-pound penalty for that victory. Two of her five career victories have come over this C&D. Jockey Corne Orffer has opted to ride the daughter of Master Of My Fate which is encouraging. She jumps from a good draw of four and may be the one to side with.
MY FLOWER FATE was running on when second over 1600m last time. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. If getting away to a clean start from her good draw of five, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.
TIME FOR LOVE won a game race in the Listed Ladies Mile last time. She has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she can follow up with another victory.
Race 8
PACAYA won a good race in the Grade 3 Legal Eagle Stakes last time. He raced from a handy position, moved up and kept finding to hold all challengers at bay. He received a four-pound penalty for that victory. He is the class horse in the race and should follow up with another victory.
RAPIDASH finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter.
FUTURE PRINCE is better than his last start behind the top choice. On his previous form, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 9
FLY FUTURA has good consistent form lines to his credit. He was running on when 1.05 lengths behind ALL ABOUT RONNIE last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can return to winning ways.
ALL ABOUT RONNIE produced a strong finish when winning his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field once again and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
MASTER OF PARIS stayed on when third over this C&D last time. He takes on slightly stronger company this afternoon, but is in a good space and cannot be ignored.
Race 10
SURGE OF POWER was given a peach of a ride when winning his maiden at the second time of asking, over this C&D. He showed good speed and fought back well under Richard Fourie. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He does take on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
FORT RED took on stronger in his last start over this C&D. He returns to Class 4 Company and on best form shown, he should be right there.
NIGHT TIGER’S last three starts have been decent. He has won twice, finished second once and third twice from ten starts over this C&D. The son of Rafeef should have a say in the outcome of this contest
