Race 1
ROMAN’S REVENGE ran a fair race over 1700m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He is having his first run for the Tony Peter stable. If settled into his new surroundings, he can shed his maiden tag.
ROLL OF THE DICE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He finished second in his only attempt over this distance. With luck in running, he should pose a threat.
ORANGE COUNTY was in need of his debut effort over 1400m at Turffontein. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should have a say.
Race 2
LACEWING rallied late when second over 1600m at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and she can go one better.
SILVER PARASOL finished 2.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. Muzi Yeni is booked to ride and he may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most.
MESSALINA set the pace over 1450m last time but was outrun late by Mary Read. She finished 2.75 lengths behind the second choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms and she may have to settle for the same result.
Race 3
IMPERIAL MASTER won a good race in his last start over 1800m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Jeffrey Syster retains the ride and the combination can follow up with another victory.
MILLAHUE finished 2.4 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
WHAFEEF finished 2.6 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. He is 3kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.
Race 4
NUCLEAR FORCE won a good race in his last start over 2600m on the Turffontein Inside course. He has won over this distance previously. From his good draw of four, he may be the one to side with.
IDEAL FUTURE should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was baulked for running room at the 300m mark. She has won once and finished third four times from seven starts over this distance. 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew knows her well and she should give the males a run for their money.
ANGEL’S WISH finished 0.3 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights and may battle to turn the form around.
Race 5
HAPPY MO raced from a handy position over 1600m last time and tried hard all the way to the line. The daughter of Royal Mo would have come on from the run and should love the extra furlong on offer. Gavin Lerena returns to the saddle and she may be the one to side with.
ROSY LEMON should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was steadied at the 250m mark. She won her only attempt over this C&D and cannot be ignored.
SPECIAL CHARM was not disgraced when third in the Grade 2 Track And Ball Oaks last time. She has won twice, finished second twice and third once from as many starts on this course. She gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Nirvan Nastili which will assist her cause.
Race 6
OLIVIA’S WAY followed up her maiden win with an encouraging fourth-place finish over 1400m. She raced wide around the turn that day and understandably lacked a finish. The daughter of Pathfork will love the rise to 1800m. She jumps from pole position and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, she may be the one to beat.
PRETTY IN PEARLS is better than her last start over 2000m. She finished 1 length behind LINGANOMORE in her penultimate run. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
LINGANOMORE is better than her last start on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack. She has won once, finished second twice and third twice from six starts over this distance. On previous form, she should be right there at the finish.
Race 7
CHESTNUT BOMBER won a good race when shedding his maiden tag at the third time of asking. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He does take on stronger but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
ZIP CODE ran a good race when second over 1400m last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
I BELONG got up late when winning his maiden over 1700m. He may be at his best over further, but carries a handy galloping mass of 53kgs and cannot be ignored
Race 8
KOTINOS has found a form return in his last two starts. He was running on when third over 1160m at Turffontein last time. He has won twice from three starts over this C&D. Apprentice Trent Mayhew takes the 2.5kgs off his back and he can notch up his fourth-career victory.
