Race 1 

SACAMBAYA showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He jumped inwards leaving the start, but was running on well at the finish. He is in a good space and with luck in running, he can go one better.

AMBITIOUS LADY returns from a 20-week break and is having her first run for the Tony Peter stable. The daughter of Pathfork would have strengthened up during her time off the track and she should have improvement to come.

OKLAHOMA TWISTER’S last two starts have been fair. Tom Lukhele has a good strike-rate for this stable and he can earn another cheque.

Race 2

THERES A LIGHT was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. It must be noted that The Playboy Bomber has come out and won again since. He should enjoy the drop to 1200m and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

SOVEREIGNS CALL stayed on when fourth in his last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. He is coming along the right way and if getting away to a clean start, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

TOGETHER AGAIN’S last two starts have been fair. She has finished third twice from three starts over this C&D. She carries a light mass of 52.5kgs and should give the males a run for their money.

Race 3

STREWN SKY is lightly raced with decent form lines to his credit. It must be noted that The Playboy Bomber has come out and won again since. The son of Potala Palace tries the 1800m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he may be the one to beat. He is carded to race on 02 May 2024 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

INCREDIBLE INDRANI raced from a handy position last time, but found one too good in the form of Red Knot. The daughter of Global View is a progressive type and from pole position, she should be competitive.

IN A BLUE MOON has consistent form lines to his credit. He received a bump leaving the start last time, but stayed on at the finish. The son of Fire Away may be rewarded for consistency.

Race 4

IDEAL FUTURE was running on when second over 2000m on this course last time. She has won twice and finished second once from seven starts on this track. 4kgs claiming apprentice Nirvan Nastili retains the ride and from her good draw of three, she can notch up her fourth-career victory.

VIVA DE JANEIRO is better than his last start over 1600m. The son of Oratorio tries the 1800m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be the first male past the post.

SUMMERLAND ran a decent race in her last start. She finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice that day. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 5

SECRET RECIPE set the pace over 1500m last time but was caught late by Que Ceu Azul. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from six starts on this course. The daughter of Pomodoro takes a slight drop in class and from her good draw of two, she may be the one to side with in this field.

KITTYBOYS GIRL showed good improvement in her last start over 1450m on this course. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

COUNT YOUR CHANCES finished 2 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned.

Race 6

PUTINS PROMISE ran a fair race in his last start over 1600m on this course. He stayed on at the finish that day. The removal of the blinkers seems to have done the trick. He jumps from pole position and with S’manga Khumalo retaining the ride, he may be the one to beat.

GIMME THE FLAME returns from an 11-week break which may have done her the world of good. She has won twice and finished second once from seven starts over this distance. If not in need of this outing, she should find a form return.

FEELING GROOVY had excuses in her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. In this type of field, she can earn a cheque for her patrons

Race 7

LADY ELLIOT was not disgraced when fourth against stronger company in her last start over this C&D. The daughter of Erupt has dropped in the ratings and she takes a drop in class. She does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Muzi Yeni who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

EMPRESS GAME’S last three starts have been good. She has won once and finished second once from four starts on this course. She is carded to race on 02 May 2024 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

TWICE AS WILD’S last two starts have been good. It must be noted that multiple horses from her last form line have come out and won since. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

Race 8

MUNCHKIN has good recent form lines to his credit. He showed good pace over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course last time, but was caught late by Grape Shot. The son of Rafeef takes a drop in class and he can notch up his second-career victory.

SAMOA has fair recent form lines to her name. Five of her seven career victories have come over this distance. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

DELLA’S SWORD stayed on when third over this distance last time. She takes on male company but carries another handy galloping mass of 52.5kgs and she should give a good account of herself
