St George’s Park is the venue for Sunrisers Eastern Cape against MI Cape Town on Monday and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.
SUNRISERS EASTERN CAPE
Sunrisers Eastern Cape are currently bottom of the table having lost both of their opening games.
Their first match was at home to the Pretoria Capitals who batted first and scored 193 for 6 and the hosts could only reach 170 for 5 in their 20 overs.
They then played the Pretoria Capitals again, this time in Centurion and once again it was the Capitals who amassed a big score, scoring 216 for 6 with the Sunrisers Eastern Cape reaching 179 for 7 in their 20 overs for a 37 run loss. Most of the bowlers took some punishment, but Magala stood out with his 2 for 28 in 4 overs while on the batting front Aiden Markram top scored with 46 off 29 balls.
MI CAPE TOWN
MI Cape Town are now top of the standings on 9 points after 3 matches. Their campaign got off to a perfect start with an 8 wicket win over the Paarl Royals at home, but they were then beaten by the Durban Super Giants in Cape Town going down by 5 wickets.
Their last match was against the Joburg Super Kings in Cape Town on Saturday and they won that comfortably by 7 wickets. MI Cape Town won the toss and sent the Joburg Super Kings in to bat and they were quickly amongst the wickets, eventually restricting them to 105 for 9 off their 20 overs. The majority of the bowlers contributed, but pick, in terms of economy and wickets was Rabada with 2 for 12 off 4 overs. Brevis top scored with 42 off 34 balls in the run chase and MI Cape Town got up with just under 4 overs to spare.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape 15/10
MI Cape Town 5/10
Suggested Bet: Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Total 6’s over 5.5 at 1/1
Despite being on the losing side in their first game at St George’s Park they managed to clear the boundary 8 times so I think there is some good value in this bet.
Suggested Bet: MI Cape Town Top Batter, Dewald Brevis at 2/1
Brevis looks a classy player and I am a bit surprised the bookies have him just behind van der Dussen in the betting. I like the way he has been mixing up attack and defence and I am hoping we are in for another Brevis Master Class.
